I thought the bioweapons claim was just bullshit until Nuland refused to outright say "No" to a question of whether there were any in Ukraine and stressed how important it was to keep what's at those labs away from the Russians.

If there is anything I learned from the Fauci Senate hearings it is to listen everytime the person being asked the questions stumbles and tries to avoid lying before Congress by stumbling over some bullshit they strung together in hopes of not technically lying.

The Young Communist League of the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) has held protests over the last few days in NYC, Dallas, Indianapolis and other cities in opposition to any NATO intervention in the Russo-Ukrainian war.

While normally these people would not be especially noteworthy (they have around 5000 registered members in the USA), images of these guys have spread widely around Russian Telegram as a supposed sign that a significant amount of Americans are opposed to NATO. This is because, in Russia, even small protests do not happen unless something is seriously wrong at a national level.

Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while. The HTS is only organized rebel group left in Syria and they are backed by Turkey. So there's no speculation on how that got there to Ukraine. Why wouldn't US secure or remove the labs prior to Russia's attack? It's not like it was unexpected overnight thing.

The funniest thing is how quickly those peoples ultimately accepted borders (if not necessarily categorizations; I'm pretty sure "Syrian" and "Iraqi" were things long before the colonial era, even if "Jordanian" certainly wasn't) effectively imposed on them by colonial map-drawers.

At least Ukraine had more "natural" borders given to it by centuries of Russian state fiat.

The boundaries of Ukraine are not much older and just as arbitrary as those of Iraq or Syria. Ukraine's borders were created in 1918 and 1919. The first formal definition of it geographically was in the peace agreement with the Germans (Brest-Litovsk). Then the Soviet Union re-drew the borders of the Ukraine for its own purposes around 1920. The Soviet Union continued tinkering with the borders up to 1954 when Crimea was arbitrarily added to Ukraine.

And there is no "historical" Ukraine that one can look back to before that time to determine boundaries. Because while Ukrainians will sometimes claim that some ancient state was just the same as modern Ukraine, they were about as much the same as Ukraine as Iraq was the the modern form of the Babylonian Empire.

The basis of Ukrainian Nationalism is less to do with historic states and their borders than it is to do with a language and cultural grouping of people that absolutely existed at the end of World War One.

If they defected to Russia, Vlad would put most of them in prison for operating outside the KPRF. The Kremlin allows one communist party. It only exists as one of those controlled opposition parties that allow Putin to claim Russia is a multi-party system. KPRF supports the invasion because Vlad briefed their leaders on the de-Nazification narrative, and because NATO represents capitalism.

Supposedly the Luhansk Donbass grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been surrounded, trapping roughly 30,000 to 50,000 men behind Russian lines. awaiting better confirmation so take with a grain of salt at the moment. if this is true though, the main fighting units in the donbass will have been destroyed opening the front for a huge russian advance.

This has been developing for a while, surprised Ukraine hasn't tried a retreat out of there. However surrounding a bunch of troops is not the same as destroying them. Many dead Germans from the Russian invasion 1941 are calling about that.
