A good specimen to study when trying to anticipate future outbreaks is an existing virus. Poliovirus is already related two known pathogens that cause poliolike symptoms. Enteroviruses (the species of virus that polio belongs to) in general can cause mycarditis as well as hand, foot, and mouth disease.

That and you must remember the Putin is very divisive in Europe. Believe it or not, there’s a lot of people who admire him because he is a symbol of antiglobalisation.
While this feeling isn’t completely wrong, it often gets exploited by conspiracy type organisations who predate on low class people who are economically suffering. The vast majority is also very ignorant regarding actual Russian culture, so it’s very easy to twist the narrative.
Which is one of the reasons imho Ukraine is getting so much media support: because supporting Ukraine stirs emotions that are “easier to control”.

I have these people in my family. The older generations perceive what happened after the fall of the socialist regime quite negatively – revolution brought lot of instability they weren't used to, and of course shit ton of corruption and stealing of former government property. I don't blame them, but I don't share their optimism. I wish we could grow a spine and stopped looking for others to help us, but that's never gonna happen.

Russian competitors must be celebrating their large international rivals fucking off.

You just need to look at Cuba for an example of a nation entirely walled off that has very similar products to the west that keep the money internal to the country. You can can a coke, fanta and sprite clone in Cuba that is very very close to what we have but made and distributed by a Cuban company. If Coke moved into that market then the Cuban company would probably fail because Coke could make a loss on everything until the point they own the market.

The following 2 to 3 weeks are going to be the most interesting and probably important weeks of the conflict, because both sides will tryhard as badly as they can before the ice in the roads melt and makes the ground muddy, bad conditions for vehicles like tanks to move around definitely slowing both sides (but ruskis will be more affected).
So we might see more desperate attempts by Z to drag other countries to save his ass. And more violent and aggresive tactics by russians to take more ground.
