If it was the French Revolution, guillotine.
Any of the revolutions during the Arab Spring, stabbed in the arse Gaddafi style, then beheaded and dragged behind a tank that's doing sick doughnuts in the middle of the capital's main square.
American: Scalped by Angry natives/shot by the Colonialists after claiming he was British.
Russian: Probably do well for himself as one of the lower classes, before pissing off the wrong person.

Let me guess, he would've claimed to be of royalty during the French Revolution. That would certainly get him a trip to the guillotine.

Considering that said hypothetical brother would have had the same combination of bad parenting that resulted in Chris, that seems doubtful. The brother probably wouldn't have been autistic, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would have wound up a better person... considering the family dynamic there (especially Barb's influence), he would have been just as likely to have whomped the shit out of Chris when he didn't deserve it.

If the brother got on with Bob, I figure they'd turn out OK. After all, Bob produced two extremely successful children.

But weren't both without Barb's influence in the household at all? Remember, it's not just Barb's direct parenting that has an affect... it would also be how the kid saw Bob interact with Barb. Since indications are he gave in to her a lot, it would have probably undermined his influence over a kid's development.

That is true. Although I do feel a non-autistic child would have seen through Barb in the end (and would also have been better socially adjusted) so would at least have made something of themselves with Bob's influence.
