Redittard thinking twice about going to Ukraine and figuring out that modern war isn't about adventure, glorious bayonet charges and killing 20 Russian dudes a la Jonh Wick (WW1 naivety all over again)

Hmm, it looks like the state of ukrainian army reported by their news resources right before the war. Lack of equipment mainly. Well, this is what foregin forces do, it is not their fight.

I had a friend of mine tell me that we should sign up for Ukraine and that we're bringing back the draft or something. Yeah right, like they want a bunch of disinterested conscripts or even worse, Redditors. I just love/hate how many idiots buy into the "defend freedom and democracy and support Ukraine" rhetoric when it's in reality a corrupt shithole run by a diet Putin.

Honestly we're probably doomed to be ruled over by boomers for eternity at this point. That being said, nobody over the age of 65 should be allowed to run for political office. Ever.
god, diet putin! I didnt laugh so hard for a long time now! Perfectly describe ukrainian politics. Truly brother nation.

Counter protestors will show up, a fight will break out & the district attorney will selectively prosecute whoever they don't like & release whoever they do like. And even when that happened, Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges for self defense.

I'm really tired of this "But whutabout Americuh" rhetoric, Putin has committed well known political assassinations which have yet to become a thing in the United States, that is unless you're willing to admit the Arkanacides were all real.
Laughs in Hillary Clinton….

If you are talking the Nazi-Soviet Pact, both sides helped each other. The Nazis wanted Soviet grain, oil, and raw materials. The Soviets wanted some weaponry, but most importantly time to prepare for the inevitable war with Germany. Both wanted their spheres of influence.

Question for pondering - which side benefitted most from the Nazi-Soviet Pact? I'd say the Germans did. They were getting Soviet shipments of oil, grain and raw materials right up to the day Operation Barbarossa started. In contrast, the Soviets frittered away a lot of time fighting the war with Finland, then rebuilding the ravaged Red Army. After the end of that war the Soviets did some half-hearted preparation of a "Stalin Line", which turned out to be useless against the German attack. The Germans provided little in the way of arms. To be sure, the Soviets gained something of a buffer zone with their part of Poland and the Baltics, but to little avail once Barbarossa kicked off.
The Molotov-Ribbentrop treaty was a manifestation of Stalin’s geopolitical view: his main thrust was to turn all capitalist powers against each other so as to make an attack against the communist regime less likely. He laid it out in a book he wrote way before the war. He was very consistent in his overall view on this. You are correct on the krauts though.

Of course he's Boogie sized. Though really his problem seems to be that he's just pissed about how retarded the sanctions are, and McDonalds is just the proxy for that sentiment. Though I do have to wonder if Russia just decided to nationalizes McDonalds and call it "Putin's Meat Palace" what can McDonalds really do about it? There's probably some international supply chains they'll lose out on, but we've seen places like Asia have their knockoff Starbucks and more, so why can't Russia have a McPutins?

Edit: Looks like they have one already

So you have locally owned equivalents such as MakDak or their own fastfoods such as Kroshka Kartoshka. But i suspect some mega chains like McDonalds or Starbucks operate in some regions of the world under disguised names.

Chechnya doesn't allow infidel businesses on their soil. But in Grozny you will find Royal Burger and Star Coffee which look surprisingly familiar.

I don't want to power level too hard, but a good friend of mine has recently left to join up with the foreign volunteers against my advice. I'm deeply afraid he will suffer this fate, but I also know that he made his bed when he decided that he would fight for a country he has never been to ostensibly to fight for freedom and democracy, while in reality I think he's simply living out a fantasy that he's had ever since he was rejected from our military on medical grounds.
He will get a Darwin Award.

Interesting! So they mcdonalds under different name.

This is dumb dumb dumb dumb like holy shit it is dumb. Every side is retarded about this shit but no more than the Russians and their dickriders. This entire situation is an unmitigated disaster on the Russian side and they don't even realize it. From their propaganda they went into this with a fundamentally flawed mindset. The Russians and their supporters seem to think that because the US pulled out of Iraq/Afghanistan that means they are weak. Granted yeah the US is weak, but they fail to understand exactly what those wars were. They were intended to be forever wars. Mass production of death to keep the military industrial complex forever flexing. The failure in Iraq and Afghanistan wasn't that they pulled out because they couldn't complete the objective, it was that they pulled out at all. That was what they were supposed to be, war as a service. The xbox live of oppression. I don't know if this is what Putin thought, but judging by what the media is broadcasting he seems to believe the purpose was victory. From what it looks like to an outside observer Putin seems to have thought he could pull a W and things would be daijoubu. That his boys would be welcomed with flowers and he would show up America with a "real war." If that is true he drank the koolaid and fundamentally misunderstood the situation.

Every possible solution to this problem is an L for Russia. The only conceivable way Russia could win here is if they mogged the entire world and just kept conquering until they couldn't any more. The last few weeks have shown that isn't possible. The only thing guaranteed from this war suffering for the Russian people.
A new world record: Quagmire declared after 3 weeks!

I do wonder how this war will be portrayed to future generations of Russians. Will it be another sacred war like World War II, or a war they wish to forget like the Chechen war?
Obviously it depends on the outcome.
If Russia sees a successful coup, whoever assumes power will have to pay reparashuns to Ukraine and the West (e.g. for the downvoted redditors), and Russian professional grifters will collate every bit of fake news and cry nonstop about Russia's alleged savagery. There will be a Hoholcaust museum in Moscow to serve as a base of operations for the grifters, and a yearly national school essay contest.
If Russia loses, they'll memoryhole it.
If Russia meets the minimum victory conditions (LDNR + Kherson), they'll memoryhole the spesh op but broadcast blooming gardens in Crimea 24x7. (I'm looking forward to this.)
And if Russia takes the Azov coast (which it allegedly holds right now, someone claimed to have travelled from LDNR to Crimea through Russia-controlled land), the war will make history textbooks, but in a very dry and reserved way.

It will not be a sacred war. Russians don't really exalt war, World War II only has this status because Russia needs a national myth and doesn't have anything else. If you have a better idea (which doesn't involve the Soviets) and can meme it into reality, there's a $1B grant awaiting you, $100M of which is your personal cash reward. Another precondition of mythologization is that normal people are involved, as they were in WWII and the Revolution; we aren't. In the fantasy case where Russia wins against the globohomo, the glory will belong to the Heroes of Labor who made it possible (workers, scientists, industrial spies, cops, amateur athletes/explorers).

Well you're allowed to do anything your conscience tells you is right - and of course many things that aren't.. Civil Disobedience is a thing if you didnt know.
Its pretty cool.

We should break into more oligarchs and their families houses :)

If they can do whatever they want to billionaires with zero due process or consequences to the lawbreakers because they are the wrong side of a political dispute……what the fuck do you think they are gonna do to you?

I just launched a cruise missile at you.

FAQ

What does this mean?

The amount of western volunteers(LARPers) in Ukkkraine will be decreased by one.

Why did you do this?

There are several reasons I may deem a person to be unworthy of living. These include, but are not limited to:

Aggression towards Russia, spreading incorrect information, supporting nazis.

Am I banned from life?

No - not yet. But westerners should refrain from making mistakes like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to launch additional missiles, which may put the lives of your fellow volunteers in jeopardy.

I don't believe I deserve to die. Can you un-launch it?

Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I stop a cruise missile mid flight. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining why you chose to support nazis. I tend to respond to Reddit PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can we prevent this from happening in the future?

Accept the missile and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on Russian soil. I will continue to launch missiles until you improve your conduct. Remember: living is privilege, not a right.
