The Elder Scrolls

Lore itself is even more complicated. Consider reading the works Kirkbride made for the games such as the 36 Lessons of Vivec or even C0DA (Kirkbrides attempt at answering canon and non-canon. To tl;dr, it's canon to you which means in your own TES universe, the dragonborn was some creepy looking loli vampiress made by a lonely neckbeard). Another example can be The Warp in the West, Bethesda's attempt at making all Daggerfall endings canon save for the one where Numidium goes berserk and attacks Tamriel before getting destroyed by the empire.
It gets even more complicated when all of the lore you can get in the games themselves isn't even entirely reliable.

I went with the Stormcloaks because the first Imperial I really got to know wanted to cut my head off. That is the sign of a decadent, corrupt, broken empire. Some petty bureaucratic fuck wagging her finger around.

She had no idea whether you were a Stormcloak or not. For all she knew, you and Lokir could have just ditched the cuirasses in order to disguise yourselves as civilians.

At best, it's a sign of an Imperial who doesn't really care much. Outside of that, really would be nice if Bethesda really tried moral ambiguity outside of "dying empire" and "racist stormcloaks". Then again from what I heard, the empire side was said to have a change during development because most play-testers chose to side with the Stormcloaks because the Imperial side was full of corrupt jarls.

So, what the hell is with the Dragonknight's abilities in ESO? The supposed justification for being able to do shit like breathe fire and grow fucking wings is "Akaviri martial arts ". Small problem: We never see the Blades in any of the games do any of that.

Well, the Akaviri are supposed to be a remote and mysterious race that almost no one has ever seen and the only thing related to them known to most people are thei weaponry, and the blades only have a loose idea about their culture. It's really not unlikely that they may have some kinda crazy magic that allows them to use dragon powers. Not that I know anything about that, since I chose the sorcerer.

What really gets me about the plot of Skyrim is how the dragonborn is just some random asshole that hopped the border and got caught. I mean I'm definately no authority on TES lore, but wasn't it established that the dragonborn is typically the emperor of Cyrodiil or at least related to the royal family in some way?
The Sossedov - the dragon blood- is not necessarily a hereditary trait. Though the Al-Esh and her descendants in the 2nd Empire gained it via her pact with Aka, Talos of Atmora was presumably unrelated to the Cyrodilic Emperors. Nor were Miraak and Wulfharth. Thus, one can assume that Akatosh chooses his champions from the worthy, not the noble of birth. The dragon blood is a blessing of his, to be revoked and granted at his whim.

Does anyone know if there are any plans for Skyrim to be made backwards compatible or re-released for the newer consoles? (It's not lore-related, but I haven't heard any word.)

IIRC, I think they are making a port for at least the Xbox One. I could be wrong though.

But I wasn't on THE LIST! She could've just put me in back to think about it while she ordered the other executions. I know she didn't do that because the introduction wouldn't as been so cool.

Being a crazy, right-wing shitlord I can appreciate Ulfric and wanting to preserve his cultural identity. And to everyone who say the Stormcloaks are racist, I ask this: Yeah, the Dunmer homeland blew up, that sucks, but why does Skyrim specifically have to house them? Did they sign some specific treaty? There is an whole continent out there; they don't have to just settle for the Gray Quarter.

As for the Argonians, well, they're just doing the jobs the Nords won't do. What's wrong with that?

I think the main problem is that Ulfric is kind of an ass and goes about taking over Skyrim in a very dishonorable way (killing the king with a sacred power and then running away is a pretty dick move). Plus most stormcloak soliders tend to make some pretty racist remarks while fighting if they're going up against someone of a different race.

I thought the Civil War storyline was a great idea, but it was very one-dimensional. While it didn't explicitly say anyone was right or wrong, it made both look like assholes. The Stormcloaks are racist and the Imperials are under the control of the Thalmor anyway.

It would've made more sense if the Stormcloaks and the Imperials merged their armies for a Thalmor insurrection.

Ulfric had to train to use the Thu'um, and he was stuck in a Thalmor prison. I can kinda forgive his dickishness. And it's not Ulfric's fault Torygg was a little cuck bitch boy who got in way over his head.

And for the Stormcloak racist remarks, I 'll be sure whenever I have to stab someone in the liver, I'll say racial and gender neutral insults. Don't wanna trigger anyone, specifically those mudcrabs. Nasty little creatures.

Honestly I think canon will be Imperials win. I think it's even mentioned that the Empire is at the moment biding their time and grinding up their axe for round two with the Thalmor - which considering that the Thalmor are running into internal problems apparently, will probably see an end to the white gold concordat.

which considering that the Thalmor are running into internal problems apparently
You mean like a shadowy resistance movement that routinely carries out assassinations of prominent figures on the Isles themselves, the Psijics gaining an unprecedented number of new members to carry out their work with, and the Redguards plotting an uprising? Those aren't just "internal problems", those are signs the Thalmor are going to go the way of the Ayleids.

Not to mention the possibility of Landfall. ANCESTROSCYTHE doesn't leave much left.

I started playing Skyrim again. I got the tamable beasts mod where the game essentially becomes skyrim pokemom. I also got the immersive creatures mod because as much as I love the lore, I love taming fucking Dwemer dragons more with the tamable beasts mod (which lets you tame any creature, vanilla or modded)

My absolute favorite mod for skyrim has to be the Dwemer airship. Flying around blowing shit up with the canons was fun as hell, and and having your own little base that could go just anywhere you could was nice. I used to so much that I just couldn't play the vanilla game anymore because not having my ship just bummed me out. It's dumb, but it's just the kind of thing you come to love.

The cyborg fish mod was definately a close second though. Didn't really do anything special, but he sure was adorable.

I guess one mod I enjoyed for Skyrim was a mod that gave you guns such as the pulse rifle from Aliens. Just using it on a dragon and anything else felt fun despite being all lore breaking.
