Attempted several times, either Zelensky ultimately refuses the demands or requests talks then ghosts it, now Zelensky is asking the Russians to surrender.

Presumably keeping the propaganda facade going has more value than the Ukrainian leverage shrinking over time, or Zelensky is doing something selfish/stupid.

True, the øresund and dardanelles could be cut to achieve a lot of it. How are we actually doing it though? Much like "hurr dur we could just say no fly zone and Russia wouldn't fly planes there" how in the real world are those being closed?

Russian freighter refuses to turn around, now what? Are we really going to sink/sieze a vessel and not expect that to be an escalation? What about if Russia decide to give their cargo a military escort, trading a bit of fire between navies isn't an issue is it? I'm sure Russia and NATO would be just fine with a couple of damaged/sunk vessels without it going further yeah?

Zelensky is a puppet and must do whatever the US and the guys standing behind him with rifles say he must do, or else he'll suddenly be "killed by Russians". Keeping the propaganda war going until he's told to stop is literally all he can do, he's not going to be allowed to decide anything.

Pretty sure the Russians know this, hence the invasion. If Zelensky was able to make good on his election promises to calm things down in Donbass and improve relations with Moscow he'd have done it before the war.
