Russia is not fucked via sanctions, Russia is fucked because it's a shit kleptocratic state which only benefits traitors. You could make the argument that in a gibs state (which Russia technically is) independent entrepreneurs naturally have no love for the government, but even state propagandists are traitors in Russia.

I meant in terms of this war, these sanctions and the amount of pressure they will put on Putin to provide and silence critics is going to continue getting worse as the war goes on.

It was not always like this in Russia though. At various points in Soviet history, Moscow was this communist utopia that the bydlos could only dream about. This vision correlated with periods of industrialization like 1929-1934, and again in the Kruschev years when Stalin's death raised standards of living.
Putin wants the bydlos and non-Muscovite gopniks to hate Moscow. He wants them to see him as the defender of traditional Russia from those city slickers. It's pretty easy because Moscow is not a great place and doesn't have the mythos of being a great place like NYC or LA do.

That's such an ingenious idea, I'm surprised it wasn't thought of much sooner.

Drones can be mass produced.
Eagles and falcons need years of training.
It'll work in situations where it can be made a federal offense to kill the bird, like around airports, military installations, and government offices.

But on the battlefield, where a guy with a shotgun can just kill the bird, it will not work. Drone manufacturers could quickly develop a decoy drone that explodes when the bird tries to take it out. Meanwhile falcons do not evolve on a human timescale and just getting them to kill the drone is pushing them to their limits.
