I said westerners don't know how many Russians would have to die to trigger an anti war movement. They're still treating Russia as a mirror image of the US.
They know.
No amount of human misery will trigger an anti-war movement capable of ousting Putin. If enough deaths rack up, Russia will lose "normally" and withdraw / surrender.
Personally I've thought that the Russians sending the Chechens over was always a way to get some of the more violent ones killed so there would be fewer to resist them later on. Looks like some of the Chechens had a similar idea.
Russia is in no position to
send Chechens anywhere, Chechens go where they want to go.
Remember the polish politician wanting to send a mostly peaceful peacekeeping mission to ukraine?
View attachment 3077780
Why is everyone using euphemisms lately? call a war a special operation, call nato intervention a peacekeeping mission.
"lately"

"For the application of such means, a new and essentially pacifist vocabulary has been created. War is condemned but executions, sanctions, punitive expeditions, pacifications, protection of treaties, international police, and measures to assure peace remain. The adversary is thus no longer called an enemy but a disturber of peace and is thereby designated to be an outlaw of humanity. A war waged to protect or expand economic power must, with the aid of propaganda, turn into a crusade and into the last war of humanity. This is implicit in the polarity of ethics and economics, a polarity astonishingly systematic and consistent. But this allegedly non-political and apparently even antipolitical system serves existing or newly emerging friend-and-enemy groupings and cannot escape the logic of the political."
Carl Schmitt, The Concept of the Political, 1932
Holy shit. Look at the flag. You cant make this shit up.
7 colors. It's a reference to Genesis 9:11-15, the aftermath of the flood.
Yeltsin stayed in power precisely because the oligarchs and US carried him through the 93 Crisis and second election. Everyone in Russia would have wanted him gone and Putin played the game right to succeed him. The US even acknowledged Putin in private talks as a good replacement for Yeltsin. The 93 crisis was decades ago, the US could easily color revolution Russia and get a new Yeltsin in power if the situation at home gets too out of hand for Putin.
The US has been trying to
color white revolution Russia for over 10 years now. They may succeed of course, but the death toll of the spesh op will have little to no effect on it.
For those who say that the DPR and LPR only exist on the life support of Russian armed forces and money
...
but what he really meant was that it created a complicated situation in which people suddenly stopped being citizens of one country and did not necessarily agree with their new found government and were definitely not willing to move away because of that.
Not just "not willing", incapable. For nearly a generation, Russia has been actively hostile to Russians moving in from the ex-USSR countries. Many Eastern Ukraine and DPR/LPR residents kept Russian citizenship for higher gibs - it was enough to not starve in The Ukraine, but not enough to move to Russia. They couldn't even
flee to Russia, because only foreign nationals can be refugees.
oh and with Putin's speech today there's a very small chance he's about to go full on Stalin.
Unfortunately no chance at all. He's trying to gratify the normies who are butthurt over the number of traitors in the media and the upper classes in general.
People have explained the Yuan things on the the other thread about Saudi, but Yuan is an extremely manipulated currency. CCP controls the currency to keep it as low as possible. So Yuan used for trading is a very bad idea.
Link plz, I'm not very good at Jew magic.
It's about as valuable and trustworthy as Wonkette. (If a Russian language news site is pro-Russian and doesn't show up in Yandex News, it's complete garbage, useless even as a propaganda gauge.)
Well you see, Russia did not want to preserve the infrastructure of Chechnya, a part of their country that they would control later, but now they have an interest in preserving the infrastructure of Ukraine, which is not (yet) a part of their country (and which they might have to control later), because shut up
Yes. Russia did not care about preserving the infrastructure of Chechnya because Chechnya was small and Russia's own territory so fuck them, but they have an interest in preserving Ukraine because they have no resources to control Ukraine and support Ukrainians, so they have to leave a somewhat livable country behind.
Edit: the Irish refugee situation gets better. Article linked
here (
archive). There’s actually two refugee families which he has posed with. Neither of them are white (note: I think the two women next to him are wife and daughter). He asked for Ukrainians but got Asians and Africans.
These two actually look like real Ukrainian refugees, a Central Asian labor migrant and child.
This outta annoy some Americans...
It's Medvedev, he's a cuck. Nothing he says is ever of value. Putin made him president for that very reason.
i heard that there's an ongoing exodus of middle and upper class russians happening over the last few weeks, apparently a lot of russians are extremely pessimistic about the future, and some fear that putin might close the borders or make emigration illegal at some point in the near future, so they are trying to get out ASAP
Thieves cashing out.
The goal of any middle and upper-class Russian is to either embezzle a lot and emigrate to the West, or stay in the country and keep embezzing until death / retirement and send the children West. Now that staying in the country means they and their children can get sanctioned, they're cashing out.
I'm surprised to learn then some Russians fled to Turkey knowing the relations between Turkey and Russia in the past but on the other hand, Erdogan licking Putin's boots...
Cheap (I believe globohomo's preferred term is "downshifting") and no visa requirement.
Eh, prices for everything that's imported went up. Necessities like food are mostly fine, but everything else? Dog food, furniture, electronics, construction materials, car parts, all that shit rose by roughly 30% (give or take). For now. It's only been a month, hard to say what it's going to be like by summer.
...
We're estimating to see about 300k new hands in the unemployment pool.
We've been through the coof. Imports already had to adjust for fucked up logistics. I have cargo stuck en route since September '21 and a pallet sitting in a Japanese warehouse since April fucking
2020.
And if Mishustin isn't bamboozling and will actually raise the import threshold back to $1000, electronics will be
more affordable when the price of labor catches up as AKIT gets told to pound sand.
English doesn't use accent marks so we never learn them, and we never learn the basic conventions of foreign names so we can read them accurately. There's also so many foreign names here, it's called Muttland for a reason.
This is exactly why it's weird.
Because there are so many loan words and foreign names pronounced every which way, I'd expect Americans to be more like Japs and remember the correct pronunciation of a word or name. (Unlike in e.g. Russian, where you only need to guess the stress and maybe an unmarked ё).
I'm confused, smuggling IN.. I thought they stopped her as she was getting the fuck out. If her stupid ass tried to sneak drugs into russia, she deserves everything she fucking gets, the full 10 years would be funny to me. Don't fuck around in another country, you dumb ape.
Yes, she was caught in Moscow having flown from New York. She's been playing in Russia since 2015 and won the women's championship every year.
I remember some Jew thot got caught "smuggling drugs" because she got used to buying tickets from an aggregator site and thoughtlessly picked a cheaper flight with a transfer in Moscow. That was at least understandable. This, no excuse.
