Literally in a separate wing of the prison. And in many cases, in entirely separate prisons literally custom-built for the purpose. I don't know a single state that doesn't have them, and there are a lot in the federal system too. For instance, Nick Bate is in one of them. So is Peter "DrPizza" Bright. Much of this is pursuant to the Prison Rape Elimination Act, which is a large part of the reason that most of these prison rape jokes are outdated. The reason for the PREA was that there was in fact essentially an epidemic of unchecked sexual abuse of prisoners, especially unpopular ones like child sex offenders.

Prison rape hasn't gone away at all; Prison rape is in fact worse than never. Most of the victims aren't even sex offenders either--they're just weak people, which many sex offenders (being rapist themselves) aren't necessarily.

This was alleviated largely by the creation of these protective custody wings in federal and state prisons across the country. Check any prison website and there are annual mandatory reporting requirements under the PREA that require them to detail what their current situation is and what they're doing about it.

There are far more sex offenders than there are spaces in protective custody units (which don't automatically go to sex offenders like you see in the movies); Most go to genpop, it's just that most prisoners are lowlives and except for the especially heinous prisoners (who even then, like semen-flute man, seem to have an easy going prison experience), they generally tend not to give a fuck about the sex offenders because the prisons are full of them.

Incidentally, Amos Yee is currently housed at Cook County Jail Division 6 which, surprise, surprise, has a protective custody wing.

To be fair, i was with a woman 15 years my junior for a few years. The age difference was what killed it at the end, or at least a big part of it. We were both well above 18 at the start. And although it took about 4 years, the age difference played a big roll in killing the relationship. I guess i feel like that among adults, age is a consideration, for sure, but not necessarily the be all, end all. If it feels good, and it is good for both adult, consenting people, do it. You only live once.. or maybe I'm just old, and glad Amos is gonna be away from kids, so the world is just a bit better. Go live your life y'all. Merry Christmas.

If i had to do it all again, i would. Though I'd maybe be more gun shy about letting the relationship escalate faster than i was comfortable with. Essentially, she wanted to jump into commitment, then marriage, then kids. I'd already done all that, and wasn't looking to do it again. I'd be very, very clear on what boundaries I'd set if i were to be in the same spot again, rather than trying to meet her needs almost exclusively. Tldr; different ages seem to move at different paces.

I knew a guy who was 29 and dating a girl that had literally just turned 19 in fact he met her on her birthday. And they were great together. You could tell they truly cared for one another and nobody really batted an eye. She was mature for her age and he was kinda a child at heart and looked younger than he was so they meshed really well.

Sure it would have been bad had he been 20 and she was only 10 but once you pass that magical age of 18 you're now an adult and you're legal. As far as I'm concerned there was no issue in that relationship.

In the photos, Yee can be seen sporting long and messy hair, and wearing a light blue garment under a jacket.

Hardwarezone users were quick to comment on Yee's appearance.

The Chicago Police Department's photo of Yee when he was first remanded in October 2020 shows a different-looking Yee.

Eligible for parole in 2023​

The Illinois Department of Corrections, which currently has custody of Yee, keeps a public record of current inmates on its website.

It states that Yee's projected parole date is Oct. 6, 2023, about three years after he was first taken into custody.

Yee's projected discharge date is Oct. 8, 2026.

His profile also states that he is required to be on the sex offender's registry.
