Huge. Like, losing any warship is big but this is one of the big haulers for military equipment the Russians have in theater. Landing anywhere on the Black Sea coast now is out of the picture. 30% of their landing ship fleet is out of commission, which was being used to try and help supply the southern front.

Do note the ship doing circles could be doing it because it thinks it’s about to get hit by an air attack, which is kinda laughable. I think it’s more likely there’s rudder or engine damage.

That ship was carrying the flag of the Russian team so now if Zelensky captures it and brings it back to Kiev, they'll win the war. I hear there's a spot in Odessa from where you can rocket-jump straight to Kiev.

Afghanistan fell because we were frankly tired of propping up a completely non-functional government. The Taliban didn’t begin its offensive until we had fully pulled out and they succeeded because we didn’t make good on our promise to provide air support. A miscalculation based upon the current administration’s timidity.

But why was it non-functional? Is it because the Karzai government was nothing but a kleptocracy that preached gender studies to a bunch of Muslims? If Liberal Democracy was all it's cracked up to be, Afghanis would have supported it.

While I don't think Trump would have bungled it as hard as Biden did, it still would have been considered a loss.

As is, Russia still has a lot of combat power to draw on, but the best of their stuff has been badly mauled, they’ve lost quite a few officers and casualties are likely much much higher than they expected. It isn’t over yet but Russia seriously underestimated Ukraine and has been paying for it in blood every day.

I will be interested to see what the Russians do in terms of military gear design post war. Will they keep upgrading and refining the same stuff, or will the finally get some new clean sheet designs in production?
