Aside from FPS and TPS, I have to agree. What is a controller anyways? A series of hotkeys.I prefer using a controller over a mouse and keyboard.

The argument was why game developers section content on the disc behind a paywall. I do agree that they're getting more predatory with their bloated game sizes.Remember how idiots back in the 7th gen used to get mad over DLC being on-disc, where you'd have to pay for a 100kb unlock key? Despite that data being better off on-disc, because that's less space you have to use on your hard drive?
This is not an unpopular opinion, in fact the talking point for a while has been "Skyrim's combat sucks." People who harp on Morrowind's combat are only doing it because of the meme. If they'd actually played it and wanted to criticize the mechanics, they'd point out that pickpocketing is pretty much broken and several skills like Mercantile or Enchanting were terribly balanced and end up near useless.I think Morrowind's combat is superior to it's sequels.
Morrowind's invisible dice rolls and skill checks shifts the agency for success from the player to the character you are playing as (roleplaying). It's fine once the player understands WHY they're missing at point blank range, which the game admittedly poorly conveys.
Oblivion and Skyrim have floaty, one dimensional shitty combat that just makes them bad Action RPGs. Morrowind is really just trying to simulate combat. Not trying to be an action RPG is superior to being a bad one.
Sony did that with the PS Vita. PSP used just a micro USB and Sony decided to make their own Storage card made exclusively by Sony for the Vita. The question is did Sony learn from it or will they make a proprietary SSD exclusive to Sony for the PS6.I wonder if it's all intentional. You decrease production costs per console by using insufficient storage, encourage needlessly large install footprints among developers, and then sell upgrades down the road.
SNK should have kept the king of fighters series as a crossover game for their IPs. For KOF 94 They could have replaced the Japan team with a world heroes team. The USA team with an aggressors of dark combat team and the England team with a 3 count bout team. All these games were out around this time
We could have had metal slug, savage reign, samurai shodown and last blade teams down the line. The last three arent chronologically accurate but then again, the art of fighting team wasn't either.
They've made too many shitty characters, should have had only the final boss as an original character.
None of the current third party storage solutions are all that bigger, they don't even have like a 5tb drive that would work with either of them last I checked.I wonder if it's all intentional. You remember buying a 2tb HDD for PS4, not an SSD, that's a world of difference. Consumer SSDs doesn't even scale up that high in storage space and for the price of a 2TB PCIe 4 NVMe SSD you can get a 12TB HDD.None of the current third party storage solutions are all that bigger, they don't even have like a 5tb drive that would work with either of them last I checked.
I remember buying a 2tb drive for the PS4 and a 1tb drive for my PS3 and thinking that was enough, but I'm thinking a safe amount of hard drive space may need to be 10tb.
Yes you're right, but like space in general is at a premium for some games and even the max amount of space just doesn't seem like it's going to be enough for what SSDs currently are the majority of options. For HDDs this really isn't a problem and I think that's why games scaled up because HDDs were the standard since the PS3/360 era and were pretty cheap for space. But SDDs now have become the standard, and they just don't have that capacity yet or lower cost for consumers. You remember buying a 2tb HDD for PS4, not an SSD, that's a world of difference. I think you can connect a USB HDD for backup storage space. Disks got us to this point, they had to optimize around seek times and duplicate data all over the place for that reason. Why is the PS5/Xbox-whatever affected? Cross platform releases. I don't think we're going to see the benefits of SSDs, raytracing and increased CPU capabilities until the PS6 and Xbox Luna, we are somewhat in the PSX phase of new technology.Yes you're right, but like space in general is at a premium for some games and even the max amount of space just doesn't seem like it's going to be enough for what SSDs currently are the majority of options. I don't know if we're going to hit a wall later on when it comes to being unable store more stuff like previous generations, because people are used to that since the last two console generations had no issues with hard drive upgrades.
At this rate, a PS6 sounds pretty doubtful considering Sony's questionable business practices.I think you can connect a USB HDD for backup storage space. Yeah ok, it might be a Tiger Electronics Playstation 6 handheld, but I still believe that we won't see the benefits of what make the current generation vastly more powerful than the previous until the next generation rolls around. At this rate, a PS6 sounds pretty doubtful considering Sony's questionable business practices.
PS4 is almost 9 years old, at launch it was the same thing with it being hard to justify it over the PS3. Certainly by the mid point of the generation the PS4 was being fully utilized for games much more than it's predecessor. I think by the same midpoint we'll see the SSD stuff be way more utilized.Yeah ok, it might be a Tiger Electronics Playstation 6 handheld, but I still believe that we won't see the benefits of what make the current generation vastly more powerful than the previous until the next generation rolls around.
That was because the only significant difference between the PS3 and PS4 was the GPU and the RAM. The CPU was anemic, storage was still HDD SATA, it had more memory but that primarily benefited the GPU. Games couldn't be made greater, just prettier. Same with the Xbone. Current gen consoles like the PS5 and the ex-sex are vastly more powerful in areas that were previously neglected and unlike increasing GPU utilization like with the PS4 the SSD and CPU is something they currently don't take advantage of and you should ask yourself why.PS4 is almost 9 years old, at launch it was the same thing with it being hard to justify it over the PS3. The same will be the case with the new consoles or new hardware for the foreseeable future.Games couldn't be made greater, just prettier.
Wait which Witcher? The first one was janky as all hell but 2 and 3 were pretty good and were much better than the original. Here's one for you: Witcher and Neir Automata are both dog-shit games that are held up by people who jack off to them.
Either to the Z-tier sex doll, or the the dozens of random sluts chasing the 'totally not mary sue's' cock.
There's still quite a few barriers that could be broken, for example loading an entire open world at once with no need for draw distance or fog because you can see everything for the get go and everything is always at maximum detail. That means no more need to make lower resolution models for distance. The limitation in games now is development time and creativity. Hardware improvements unlocking new horizons or revolutionizing what a game could fundamentally be ended (arguably) 20 years ago.
All of them, but Witcher 3 is specifically the one that spiked that shit-pile into popularity.Wait which Witcher? The first one was janky as all hell but 2 and 3 were pretty good and were much better than the original.
Mary Sues are really not that much of a cardinal sin in games because the mechanics of the player character work that way.
This reminds me of the PSVita memory cards. There's no point for that.I think Xboxes can use external HDDs too, though they also sell "storage expansion cards" which are just overpriced proprietary NVMes. 1TB NVMe drives for computers are around $100 right now, and of course the ones for Xbox X|Ses are $220.
That's because the PS4 was easier to develop with compared to the PS3.Certainly by the mid point of the generation the PS4 was being fully utilized for games much more than it's predecessor.
But how does that make whole new currently impossible experiences sudden possible? There's still quite a few barriers that could be broken, for example loading an entire open world at once with no need for draw distance or fog because you can see everything for the get go and everything is always at maximum detail.
