I think after this war any idea of Russia being powerful was pretty much evaporated over night, it's like the 90s all over again and not in the good, nostalgic way.
I can tell it's really taken Russia by surprise in political theater. Every time they try to intermediate the Baltics, Poland, or Finland they get laughed at in their faces. It's kind of pissing me off as Russia's blatant idiocy is making the Biden administration look less retarded as a result.

Russian troops died because of that mass pileup. Are you saying the Russians fucked with their own logistics and sacrificed their own troops and several riot police units to trick the Ukrainians into thinking that no one could be stupid enough to waste that much men and resources on a diversion?
5D Chess, Bro.
Putin didn't even like those guys, getting them killed was all part of the plan.

Biden has cucked Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping while being senile and having his son embroiled in controversy for smoking coke out of a hooker's arsehole. He is a national geriatric gem.

That fucking voice is the worst. You're right even by Troon standards this thing stands out. It's all the stuff you mentioned, plus something I just can't put my finger on.
There's something off about the eyes as well. It's just some really uncanny valley type shit.

Interview with Col Douglas MacGregor. interesting that Desert Storm vets like him and Scott Ritter treat it as self evident that Ukraine is turbofucked whereas GWoT veterans rate the Ukrainians. Suspect it is this issue that Ukranian forces are well trained and equipped for tactical battles whereas Russia is utterly dominant on the operational level in terms of air power, mobility and long range fires.

@JosephStalin interested in your thoughts as someone from that generation

I've noticed the generation gap as well and was wondering what caused the divide.

Yeah it's the US and CNN, but having no overall commander for this was reported before.

I trust this means all is going according to plan and is in no way an attempt to get it's shit together after being forced to withdraw from Kiev.
If I had to guess, what is actually meant here is an overall commander for all forces (e.g. DPR, LPR, Chechnya) similar to how Eisenhower was appointed over command of all forces in the European theater.

I think its more that the Russians have successfully linked the Crimean, Donbas and Kharkov fronts into one unified front so it makes sense to have a single front commander rather than 3

Setting a timeline for when a war will end is cursed logic. Its guaranteed to never end at that time. Especially since by early May, the Ukrainian Army will be reinforced and rearmed. With Kiev and Kharkiv no longer under pressure, they will be free to replace those defense lines with draftees and send their professional force over the Dneiper into Kherson and Donbass.

Also, By May, Russia will be out of refined petroleum. Its mind boggling considering how much petroleum Russia has, but they have very little refinement capacity, and their ability to move refined product to where its needed is severely hamstrung at this point. Its why the Russian Airforce is MIA right now. They are out of Aviation Fuel. By May, if they are to maintain operational tempo they are going to have to start rationing civilian use of refined petroleum. Or else abandon mechanized warfare entirely.

Ukraine knows this too. Its why they are so busy trying to blow up fuel depots in the border regions.

The US DoD has estimated that the russian airforce is flying over 300 sorties a day, up from 200 a day at the start of the war

That's possible too, but I think that the incident with the supply ship rolling up to a dock in Mariupol that was still un-secure is likely going to turn out to later have been the result of a miscommunication about where forces were on the ground. If that's the case, it would indicate that the various forces aren't really well coordinated.

A lot can be learned from what was left behind. State of issued equipment, any personal information, such as paybooks, left behind, any individual electronic equipment, condition of weapons left behind. Nothing is too small to check for possible intelligence value.
only if you assume they have a western level of autist doing the inventory. russians just give out what ever they got in their inventory. ak47 or 74 thats just numbers.

Why do you think Russia has trouble refining its petroleum?

Sorry for the double post, but small arms and rifle ammo doesn't mean shit. The important shit is missiles, ordinance. Lot numbers, UXO rate as well as the communications speeds on the electronics found in aircraft wrecks and any ground based radars, artillery computers and SAM systems left in Ukraine.
