Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Want to wager that there will be a wave of autism diagnoses stemming from too many parents giving Baby a tablet? Why should Baby pay attention to the boring human faces and sounds near them when Tablet has been perfectly engineered to interact, distract, and engage Baby's attention with its precise levels of sounds, visuals, and colors?
That’s exactly what I have theorized as well. Parents giving kids/toddlers tablets and then burying their nose in their own device so kids aren’t learning the natural social cues they should be.

I would imagine with the remote learning we will see an even bigger uptick in Autism diagnoses.

It doesn't help either that they've relaxed and altered the criteria for what counts as autism. It used to be reserved specifically for the nonverbal retard that rocks back in forth in a corner all day and refuses to look at or interact with anyone. Their "special interest" would be extremely specific, like playing with one certain toy, and only one certain toy, and maybe in a very specific way. Or watching a video nonstop. And god forbid you attempted to do something outside their routine.

And now it includes the kid that's mildly socially awkward and likes Y thing a lot but likes multiple aspects of Y and not just one specific thing, and has other hobbies and interests too. And the kid whose been glued to tablets and/or phones their whole life and doesn't know how to interact with people because the parents didn't want to actually parent their kid.

I agree. I’ve thought it’s been over diagnosed as well, some kids are just awkward or have poor social skills (whether it be due to shit parenting or something else). Also there is a lot of other things with similarities as autism.
I also postulate that austim is over diagnosed in profoundly disabled children as well. Should a child who has autistic-like symptoms after suffering from extreme brain damage be diagnosed with autism? I cannot imagine they would respond to the same treatments that a child born with austim would.

It'd be hilarious if Chris was told he doesn't actually have autism and just has terrible social skills from sitting in front of the TV watching The Adventures of American Rabbit and playing Sonic all day.

Also back then, autism was thought to be schizophrenia mostly because the negative symptoms with schizophrenia overlap with autism and it often appeared that they were in their own world.

Weirdly enough though is that this large genetic study called SPARK found that 1 in 10 adults with autism developed bipolar and a similar rate developed schizophrenia in their late teens to young adulthood. Usually with schizophrenia, how it is diagnosed in people with autism is that there is a notable regression of their autistic symptoms in addition to the typical hallucinations and delusions. With bipolar, there is also a regression involved, usually they become more introverted and occupied with their special interests or they develop new special interests often very suddenly and become really engrossed in them often at the expense of everything else. Infact, those with a dual diagnosis of autism and bipolar are more likely to have interests that come in waves and change frequently depending on their mania rather than stick to one thing their whole life like the typical autist.

Wait a second, aren't those the same type of children we've been saying aren't True And Honest Autism Sufferers for the past several pages?

I've heard from a friend of a friend who lived in Charlottesville during the classic age of CWC that Chris developed some kind of psychotic disorder in his late teens that was well underway when he moved back to Ruckersville. It flew under the radar because autism explained the symptoms. Then things got weirder when the internet literally gang stalked him.

I'm not 100% sold on this explanation but it's interesting.

PrayersforPaisley looks like she’s in pain in so many of her pictures. And these are just the ones the mentally deranged mom thought was good to put on social media. I’m laughing at the clearly staged “sleeping” together pic…

Also she stopped shilling Monat lol. She’s about to start shilling a new MLM, guaranteed. Poor Paisley…

That child never looks happy or content. Her every minute must be painful.
Fuck parents like that.

I mean to be fair the amount of actual legit gang stalking and Truman Show levels of gaslighting Chris went through probably would have broken most normal humans. The only difference is he was stupid enough to fall for it every fucking time instead of disengaging.

I don't think any psychological explanation beyond autism and being a bit slow applies to Chris. Least until trolls really drove him into pure I'm Jesus tier insanity.

Slight PL, but I know an autist who's somewhere around Chris's functioning level (imo, obviously), though maybe higher purely from better services. This person does know the difference between their imaginary world and the real world. It serves as a coping mechanism for anxiety around real life.

I can see easily how isolation and poor upbringing/socialization can destroy that sense of separation between the real world imaginary, and this is probably precisely what occurred with Chris coupled with worsening mental health via internet shenanigans. The seed was there and the internet sowed the shit out of it.

(I also think Chris is lower functioning than most think, and he has faked his way through life by a combination of parental hand-waving and being verbose).

Doesn't help that they've axed aspergers. I was diagnosed back in the day and now anyone can just self diagnose and it's accepted. I think it's bullshit.

What a waste of a vent and ICU bed. Don't even get me started on the cost of a medical flight for someone as critical as it sounds like that asshole was.

Medicine is in an awkward spot wherein people can be kept alive basically indefinitely even if they can't be "fixed". This leads laypeople, most of whom read and understand information at around grade 8 level, to believe that everyone who can be kept alive ought to be, even if their quality of life is basically nil and there is no hope that they will ever recover.

You would not believe how many physicians, even young and healthy ones, have advanced directives in place and do not want heroic measures to be undertaken. Even young and healthy people can have massive brain hemorrhages, silently spreading cancers, or rollover car accidents. We are all just one (very) bad day away from being trached, tubed, and turfed to an SNF.

(You'd probably also be surprised how many physicians wouldn't do chemotherapy for certain types of cancer and just opt for comfort care instead. Years ago now, I had a conversation with a group of neuroscientists, some of whom were also medical doctors, regarding which diagnoses would lead them to seek medically assisted suicide. The only unanimous pick? Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a highly aggressive, terminal type of brain cancer. There are treatments available, particular high dose radiotherapy, but the side effects are brutal. Regardless of tumor size, location within the brain, or microscopic features of tumor tissue, glioblastoma multiforme is always a grade 4 tumor per World Health Organization (WHO) diagnostic standards, which is the "worst" type. The average survival, even with the most favorable tumor histology and the best treatment available, is dismal, only about 1 year. Overall survival at 5 years is less than 5%, and most of those lucky few have serious neurocognitive sequelae from both the tumor and its treatment. Unfortunately, glioblastoma multiforme is the most common type of brain tumor in adults. All of the members of the group I spoke to said they would pursue medically assisted suicide upon diagnosis. Of course, these were neuroscientists, and they were likely biased, but I've thought about the conversation many times since. There were other illnesses that came up, particularly various types of neurodegenerative disorders, but GBM was the only one that reached consensus.)
For some reason, this can't be deleted, so I thought I'd fill things in anyway.

An acquaintance's husband was diagnosed with GBM a couple weeks ago. He is pursuing treatment, something that I would not have recommended if they asked me, which of course they didn't. Any "treatment" beyond comfort care is only going to delay the inevitable IMNSHO.

Within the past couple of years, she got Baby Fever and even consulted with an infertility specialist. For reasons I won't go into here, I was hoping everything would fall through, and it did, and I'm grateful (and I think she is too) because, among other things, she would soon be a widowed single parent.

What an absolute nightmare in every possible way. I hope that he doesn't suffer and that she finds peace without encouraging him to seek futile treatment. So sad.

The testing process and support for autism in schools are a bit stupid, I think. It goes like this.
Kid disrupts class and is pretty obviously a sperg. Teacher goes, “hey, this kid is hitting and running away from the classroom and mushing his lunch into his hair.” Guidance wants you to give the kid a sticker chart like he gives a fuck about stickers. Shockingly, the behaviors continue/get worse. After fighting all year they finally test the kid for five minutes and say, “Well, yeah that’s the autism.” The teacher says, “Well, yeah. He only eats gummy worms and mustard.” And then they give him an IEP/504 that says he must have the sticker chart that doesn’t work and extra time to take tests that he doesn’t use.

People say Chris would have been better off if the school helped him. I doubt that. Unless your kid is non verbal and in the life skills/EC classroom, nothing is done to help.

Sorry to derail a bit.
Poor little potato baby. :(

This bitch irritates me so much. She tries so hard to be relatable and cool and act like she’s so happy and shit but you can tell it’s all fake. Not unlike the rest of them. But this one irks me the most.
Uploading dumbass clips of her dancing and watching herself in the camera talking about today is going to be a good day…. Annoying
Seriously! The mom has no self-awareness. She’s so awkward and her stories are so cringey because of how contrived it is. It does seem like she doesn’t have any friends in real life - which is a red flag for any adult.

Back in the 80s and 90s, some schools were more like this:
Kid disrupts class and is pretty obviously a sperg. Not a complete shit smearing autist; more like Chris was. Doesn't get some rules; doesn't fit in with class but also able to read and write and speak more than 100 words.
School gets more funding for Sped kids.
Sperg is put in class where he plays with blocks and play dough and makes macaroni pictures with actual retards while kids his age are learning cursive and multiplication.
This was more common before the internet and helicopter parenting.
The school would take money intended for the sped kid and put it elsewhere.
I'm friends with someone who had this happen in the late 90s. She was OK with it because there was another spergette amongst the true potatoes. They were allowed to bring toys from home and they'd just play with Barbies and do board games and play on the playground all day instead of learning arithmetic and grammar. They're still friends to this day. Both ended up being fairly normal adults.

On the topic of Chris, in the Jackie E-mails, he was likely going to be put in the Grafton School, a residential school for autists in western Virginia. Even back in the 80s and 90s it was a decent school for tards.
