NEW YORK (AP) — Multiple people were shot Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, the city fire department said.

Fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood found multiple people shot and undetonated devices, a New York City Fire Department spokesperson said.

According to a law enforcement source briefed on the investigation, preliminary information indicated a suspect was dressed in construction attire.

A photo from the scene showed people tending to bloodied passengers lying on the floor of the station.

Further details were not immediately available. New York City police said they were responding to reports of people wounded either by gunfire or an explosion.

Trains servicing that station were delayed during the morning rush hour.

Either Muslim or Latino.

Likely Muslim.

"I'm dying, let me immortalise the moment by taking a picture of my ass."
Why do people think he's taking a picture? If it was on camera you would see the floor or the ceiling on the phone, and if it's got a picture he took on the screen then it was from before he entered the subway because there is a car in the image.

Edit: Actually looks like it may be a subway car, but photo looks like it was taken while standing

13 injured, 5 shot. Likely all 8 of those without GSWs were trampled.
And that's why you need to be skeptical of casualty numbers when a "mass shooting" occurs. It includes about 3 or more people killed or injured, not including the shooter. So it includes bashed shins and tramplings as "casualties".

A redditor is on the scene tying tourniquets in the wrong place
"Tourniquet" looks fairly loose too. You can tell the guy's never had any kind of first aid training because he's going straight to shitty tourniquets applied the wrong way instead of using the clothes to apply direct pressure to the wound.

It doesn't make sense to use a bomb in an "Asian hate crime attack" to me. Unless you put it somewhere with a lot of Asians, like a Chinese restaraunt or something,, not the subway.
This seems like an indiscriminate mass shooting. A subway station in Brooklyn will have people of different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. I doubt any specific group of people were being targeted.

It's actually a good thing that it's so loose because a tourniquet applied distally to the wound would probably make it worse lmao.
