The PS5 one isn't a whole lot better. For comparison, I have my original Xbox One battery pack and charger and it still last for days.

Also have fun disassembling the thing for cleanup. Maybe whoever designed it is some form of oilless alien who cannot produce grime or dead skin flakes.

And to think, PS3 controllers only needed to be recharged monthly, even under daily use.

Backwards compatibility with controllers sure would have been nice too, but lol of course we won't get that from Sony.

If you've hacked it you can use this homebrew to do the equivalent of unplugging the battery and plugging it back in, which can fix issues like the Vita running itself dry because it thinks the battery has more charge than it does. Your battery could really be toast, but you should try this first.

sleeves mate. pull them off, wash them, put them back on (or just wash them like that if you're careful). rest is just scraping off gunk around the buttons.

meanwhile ms is selling you an elite controller that's barely above chinkshit. if sony did that we'd never hear the end of it (allegedly the second version is better, but I doubt they offer free replacements to anyone who bought a 100+ bucks gamepad). their WMR controllers are also crap since they tried to save money going with replaceable batteries again while apparently planned with packs which never got changed, so the whole load calculation etc is a fucking mess.

their first wifi pads also needed a proprietary controller, dualshocks were always bluetooth (ds3 being kinda fucky tho)

The chip shortage isalso partly caused by scalpers. The problem here is a mixture of corporate bullshit and scalpers. Fuck both of them. PS5 accessories and games shelfwarm in all the local places where they sell them and yet the ps4 section keeps getting shrunk to make more room for iphone cases and funko pop shit despite there being a decent amount of ps4 stock and releases still happening.

Report: Time-limited game trials now a requirement for PlayStation games priced $34 or higher​

Developers working on PlayStation games that cost $34 / €33 / 4,000 yen or higher are now required to create time-limited game trials at least two hours long to include in the upcoming PlayStation Plus Premium tier, according to a Game Developer report citing an update to the PlayStation developer portal.
This requirement does not apply to games priced less than $34 or PlayStation VR games.
Developers will reportedly have up to three months after their games launch to release a timed trial, and timed trials are only required to be available on the service for at least 12 months.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is also open to releasing custom game demos instead of time-limited game trials, as approved on a case-by-case basis.
Publishers will still be also free to publish free game weekends, game trials, and custom demos for all PlayStation users.

Considering the average price range of games in Japan, I can see the mandate further souring the relationship of many japanese third-parties there.

This will probably piss off alot of indie devs in general unless there is a system level way to just give the license to people for a limited amount of time like Free Play Days, even then that might piss off devs since it means if their game has a slow start people might get the wrong impression. That or devs start putting in even more frontloaded content.
