I watched some of the video and I just want to say that the conceit behind the 360 degree camera spin was THE EXACT SAME one as the Jordan Peterson video: Even though we can’t see the entire couch/hammer at any one angle, we still experience it in it’s entirety.

It's quite jarring to see him share the screen with Steve Coogan. There's something insanely cringe about seeing him amongst familiar faces, like these people actually have to interact with him and witness his behaviour firsthand. It must be so embarrassing.

What was also jarring was hearing him deliver his lines like he was in a high school play, and then hearing the lady speak afterwards, delivering her lines in a natural way. Olly is so bad at acting. He had very simple lines, without even having to insert any real emotion, and he still managed to sound completely fake and stilted. Part of that must be the stupid falsetto, but still.

He's absolutely trying to sell himself as something he's painfully obviously not: a larger-than-life Thespian Extraordinaire. This role wasn't "Mackenzie, the spunky American girl reporter who later gets her own spin-off series about destroying the terven menace", not even "Iona" - it's "audience member". Literally.




I wonder about his role in Django and I really hope I'll be able to get that episode somehow.

One thing I noticed recently (and which I probably never would have picked up on without actually stumbling on some old Popular Tumblr Discourse) is how much things have changed even among the female-heavy extreme SJW Tumblr (and post-Tumblr) crowd. Nowadays, they're just as pro-trans on the surface, but mostly because so many of them trooned out and are now "transmasc" (or whatever the hell they call themselves these days, it's always changing).

The mood when it comes to transwomen is now more along the lines of what you described: thinly veiled irritation. They'll still close ranks and yell "TWAW" when they feel attacked by outsiders, but it's clear that next to none of them can actually stand being around TW, and avoid them whenever possible. There's a lot of talk about how ignored transmen are and how TW are always sexually harassing them, although none of them can actually make the leap to why that is.

Honestly, I thought it worked in context. Given the way Abigail's character is holding the phone, it's as if they're meant to come off as a dumb student asking a rehearsed, performative question, for woke points and for the sake of being the center of attention (rather than because they actually care) and the other characters come off as being in contrast to that (having real feelings). Maybe that's why Abigail was cast.
