After she's done, Chibi pauses and then his only response is about how "they can't believe he'd get a real girlfriend". He doesn't care at all about the girl, how she's feeling about being caught up in his shit. His only thought is "of course I can get a real girlfriend".
This is my favorite as well. Dipshit really thought he was the second coming of Game Grumps Barry. Nevermind that the guy who gave him the chance is nothing like Game Grumps in content or presentation.
I fucking love clips like this because the game audio just makes them way more awkward. Chibi also just only responds to the things said about him rather than her, like literally never does he show any concern for his supposed loving companion (although that's probably because he agrees with everything that's said about her lol). I also love how he goes from "fuck these guys they're evil" to "yeah it's 100% true tho".

Pardon the armchair psychology, but it just struck me how odd it is he'd say that. Why would you want to be good at a game? Games are meant to be fun, and generally people get good at them because they enjoy them and spend a lot of time playing them. Why would you want to be good at a game you don't play enough of to be good at in the first place?
I think he enjoys it to an extent, but in the internet, specially for speedrunners, you're either the best or you're no one. People wanna watch lets play's of mario maker because they wanna see people complete hard levels, and being in awe of their talent, or see people completely fail miserably and have a freak out/rage out, Chibi doesnt have the charisma or personality to attract people who watch the latter, and he probably WANTS to be see as the streamers that people watch that are good, so he forces himself to be try and be good.
I have a small story that ties to chibi: last week they remastered Chrono Cross for pc, I loved that game when I was a kid and seeing it on the top 10 torrents made me instantly start downloading it... However I catched myself 2 minutes into the download and asked myself "wtf am I doing? I'm not a kid anymore, I can't play this shit, I don't have time!" And I stopped the download and forgot about it until now.
The Twitter meltdown soon after really tops it for me.

Yeah, your adult life shouldn't be so full that you never have time to do something that brings you joy or reminds you of a happy time. Adult living has a lot of responsibilities that should come first, but that doesn't mean it has to be miserable.

To be fair I think it's probably fine wanting to be a good at a game if it's a competitive game. What I find funny is he wants to become "good" at this which isn't even competitive from what I know. He can't just sit down and enjoy a game because he wants to constantly make himself look like he is good at something/morally superior etc. He simply uses games as a tool to make himself look better but fails like a dumbass because he is an autist.
Chrono Cross is a great game, top tier writing, and one of the first experiences I had where there was actual artistic direction. The backgrounds are amazing even without the remaster.
That's the thing. As an adult I changed what brings me joy and brings me happiness and videogames are not one of them anymore. Is about growing up and finding other interests and accepting that things that gave you a serotonin kick won't do that anymore.
You are absolutely right, and even if I won't play Chrono Cross that doesn't make me miserable, in fact the contrary, I feel happy I could have experienced a fantastic game when I had the chance.
