Celes: "I'm a GENERAL, not some opera floozy!"
also Celes: *walks around the entire planet in stilettos*

Edgar has a real problem with grooming kids. One of the children in Figaro Castle says something along the lines of, "King Edgar says he'll marry me when I grow up!"
I'm sure that Edgar would say Relm.
The GBA/mobile version is changed to, I hope she survives to 18 instead of dying in battle, undoing one of my favorite Woolseyisms. (Still better than the original Japanese, which is straight-up Oh no I can't hit on her it would be a crime.:o)

Maybe he's just speedrunning and going for the harem ending.

After seeing all the lines they lifted from Star Wars, I've realized the reason I’m not attracted to any of these women is because they're not Jewish.

I'm of the Yoko Taro school of thought that every RPG needs a fishing minigame. It is only ever an improvement.

Did you miss the entire bitch fit about the same 'ethix department' that changed Chrono Cross to NOT include a canonically 9 year olds ass?
I don't recall ever being offended by Serge (17 y.o.) waking up nude or the camera zoom on his loin area.

I'm playing the FF7 Remake, jesus christ it's one of the most slow paced games I ever played. I finally met Aerith and the game forces me to a several minute sequence of walking over rooftops, no encounters, no meaningful dialogue, just waste my time to pad out the game length. And the game constantly throws moments where I need to walk slowly or perform a slow animation in order to advance.

At least that was something in the original. The faffing about you have to do to even get to that isn’t. And isn’t even a little amusing.

no meaningful dialogue
Honestly as I think about it I gotta disagree here. At least compared to the padding that came before. Because this establishes some things, on the surface level a new relationship that will affect every single plot point to come.

But that was also done with the brief jaunt in the original, which had no other tedious design elements.

She gets 0wned and winds up in the Feymarch where she ages rapidly and only reemerges conveniently as a college-aged girl but then the whole crew goes down there and they don't seem to age at all, and like there's even an inn that the party doesn't even question. like you can even bring Palom down there and it's not like you can just stay a few nights in the inn and suddenly he's got an awkward patchy teenager moustache and his voice is cracking.

Rydia's whole thing is all very sus
This is late, but it wasn't that people age fast in the Feymarch, it was that time moves much faster in the Feymarch. If you spent a day in the Feymarch only a few minutes would pass by in the normal world. So from Rydia's perspective, she spent over a decade living in the Feymarch before returning to Cecil's party.

Most of the interesting dialgoue was in the scenes prior to going on the rooftops, afterwards it's primarily the same "I'm a tough but fun girl to be with". It's been forever since I played ff7 but I remember Aerith to be more... dignified and serious. Her current character feels very generic modern woman writing.
