This makes Strelkov/Girkin sad. This guy was leading military resistance in Donbass with sticks and stones for quite some time. Now he is very angry with Russian soft approach towards Ukraine and really, and I mean REALLY wants full mobilization to happen to bring endsieg to Ukraine. Or "wE aRe DoOoOmEd".

Btw, this is like 5th time there was supposed to be mobilization if you listen to Ukrainian/Western media. Goes hand in hand with how many times Russian military ran out of toilets/bullets/nutella/fuel/whateverthefuckelse.

Nobody has a fucking clue. Not Washington, not Moscow, not Kiev, and certainly not some some fucker who builds cuckoo clocks. The only news I trust comes from a livestock manager in the Tararua Mountains. Who has a grandmother (now) just outside Mauripol, and whose boss is a literal Kiwi Farmer.

Is it a real navy made for war or is it a WW2 Canada situation where its just a bunch of shit ships made for trade

It's suprisingly capable. Aside from the totally-not-carriers other posters mentioned they have some big capable Destroyers as well.

Both of these are technically termed 'helicopter destroyers' but modifying them to launch STOVL aircraft like the F-35B would be trivial.

Modifying the ships is fairly easy as you note (and they're already partway done). What's less trivial is learning modern carrier ops when you haven't used them since WW2. Fortunately they can, and are, cross training with the US to rebuild that capability.

They've got a good sub fleet as well.

Their subs will only get better as well as the new ones are coming with lithium-ion batteries instead of the old lead-acid ones, which gives them a nice boost.

Indeed, and you can bet the Japanese will, as they have been doing for decades now, exercise with the US Navy to get up to snuff with their carriers.

I suspect they'll probably be doing some cross training with Britain as well since we also operate F-35B carriers as well, and the advantage of having a bunch of cross trained ships is huge in a potential major war.
