That part about Noel having two of those super expensive ASMR microphones...that reminds me of when Noel stated the money she sank into her personal studio was around 90,000 bucks (Soundproofing rooms, expensive tools and equipment, etc.). Audiophiles do not fuck around when it comes to high end stuff.
I hope audiophiles know that I can't tell the difference and I'm probably representative of most people.

What is Pippa doing?
I like a shitshow and some lolcow crossover here and there, but she is playing a dangerous game, one that might affect her co-workers if she isn't careful.
This one seemed tamer than the last. The closest I remember her coming to anything that would cause shit was saying you should just run away when asked by chat what do to if a rage pig is charging you. I feel like Ralph has bigger targets at the moment.

I agree with the general sentiment of not trying to punch the shit covered dude flailing on the ground. All that achieves is you getting shit covered as well.

I'm catching up on this new Salome person and I gotta say the voice is filtering me hard. I expected an uppity hag doing you know what, not some genki brat. Someone needs to add a ですわ counter to her streams, even though they've only been an hour long it'd probably reach a 1000+.

>spend mad dosh on audio equipment
>everyone is listening to it with dollar store headphones after being raped by youtube compression

holy shit that burn at the end. and that elite facial expression. :story:

also why does it feel the shrine maiden didn't think that whole thing through and let her girldick jump onto the blonde menhera route. I can already see chammers NTR her with all of EN and half of jp.

As for the discussion about international offices, I mean, they could do it. Put it in a central location to where at least most talents are a short domestic flight away. It would at least be cheaper than renting a whole studio every once in a while, apparently. I don't see what is ridiculous about it. Sure, it wouldn't be cheap, but at least as they get bigger, it will allow them to do more stuff with international talents.
if they fly hours from coast to coast, might as well spend a few more and fly to japan directly. visa shouldn't be an issue if they're there for a week, maybe two tops (and they're legally already working for a japanese company). don't think even japan is that backward to not have a solution for cases like this.
it's mainly the coof fucking shit up for 2+ years, otherwise kiara could've easily jumped over to japan before/after the maldives vacation and be done with it, which would also allow her to have all kinds of guests and collabs.

as for price, it's simply not feasible however you slice it (cost in setting it up, usage etc.), in theory they could cut a deal with anycolor (and other corps), set up a subsidiary in the US whose whole purpose would be to support their US talents, and they could even rent it out to indies - this would at least make the cost justified in the eyes of the beancounters. this would also fix any possible "just let ame handle it" issues, imagine EN having their own studio for 10 people they can use however they see fit while the rest of cover has to squeeze into the main one. special treatment, even perceived, is always a bad idea. for the same reason it can also be that cover wants them do debut together first, if kiara pays out of her own pocket it's on her (although iirc they offered it calli but she declined unless everyone can).
the easiest solution for cover: simply get everyone to japan for 2-3 weeks, fuck get council and ID there too, make it a big event, after that everyone got their fill and can wait for the next one. however here is another issue: ina/calli/sana simply have no time for that, unless it's prepared months in advance (which they simply couldn't do thanks to the wuflu and politicians being retarded).

another aspect no one talked about could be that cover simply wants to stay in control of tech and software (especially after they got burned by china already). companies can be kinda cranky like that, I'd imagine a nip one even more.

there's simply no good solution, now add corp politics and talent spread out all over the fucking globe, and things can gridlock very easily taking a retarded amount of time to resolve.

Wellness update from Mousey. Said she was going to probably remove it, so leaving it here.

I hope she recovers soon.

And speaking of which, HealthyGamerGG held an interview with Ironmouse back in May 17, 2022. I'm kinda surprised no one has posted this here yet so here it is. Might provide more insights into the little Satanas.

Man. It's gotta be rough living a life like that. I haven't been following closely but I do like her content and all. Plus she's got them pipes even under those conditions. It's a great blessing that she was able to break out and become one of the most well-established indies in the Vtubing sphere. Her rise is quite phenomenal.

It's nice seeing someone who's heavily debilitated persist and persevere despite all of the hardships that her debilitation presented. Living with a serious, permanent life-threatening condition where even the most minimal exposure to diseases can probably end your life really takes a monumental toll on your mental health. The iron in Ironmouse is pretty much true to life. You've got to have some ironclad will to trudge through all the crap that life throws at you, especially when all that crap has been thrown at you since you were young.

I wish you the best Mousey. May the hand of providence be kind to you and bring you more blessings along the way.

Covid sucks. Hope she feels better soon.
It's probably covid, but has she said it's covid?

It's honestly why she's the only member of Vshoujo I respect. I mean I'm a healthy guy and she's even surpassing me easily, add in how common it is to see people wallow in self pity, play victim, etc and she just want's to be normal. I hope CVID is cured one day and she can actually go outside.
I also respect the fuck out of her for being a mother, it blew my mind when I found out she had a kid. Her pregnancy was probably dangerous as fuck, but she still had the kid and from what she said about how her daughter sometimes forgets protocol to be with her due to excitement, her daughter must really love her. Again despite her circumstances she's doing better than most regular people.

Ethan -you pig. For the sake of argument if you come at me in public situation and I have to shoot through a crowded street in Lisbon....it's a self defense situation...

Archivebros I need that pippa self defense vid.

she's been living in japan for how long now? that's the absolute best fucking scenario to improve your language - you see and hear it constantly, and if you want to talk in japanese there are literally people everywhere. I'd say you have to go out of your way not to improve just by assimilation. it's also why learning a language from the outside is such a fucking chore, you have to set aside time for the lessons, and then what? you still need learn and train on top of that, which takes even more time since the options are far more limited, which it turn feels like another chore.
It's harder than you think, especially if your job and friend circles are in English. Particularly in Tokyo, there's enough of an English-speaking community that it's very easy to get lazy or just let other things take priority. (Hell, I'm writing this when I should be doing my Japanese homework)
how the fuck is one girl from California doing more for EN than the fucking corporation?
Japanese corporations, even small ones, are very rigid and subject to procedural paralysis. I watched a Japanese TV company spend something like $2500/day on a giant truss for one tiny camera in Vegas, but the deal took days and almost fell apart because they couldn't find a Spanish-Japanese interpreter. It wasn't about the money, it was about getting them on the approved supplier list and getting the contracts faxed and stamped in triplicate and what have you.
visa shouldn't be an issue if they're there for a week, maybe two tops (and they're legally already working for a japanese company).
Not how the Japanese law works. Where you're physically working is what matters, and while there's an exception for one-off events and the like, if you're doing your "regular job" for any amount of time while in Japan then you need a suitable visa. (If you're working remotely most employers wouldn't know or care, but when the employer is a Japanese company it's different. Employees of foreign subsidiaries of Japanese companies are generally told they can never take a business trip to Japan unless they do a job transfer to the parent company for the duration).
That said, getting a work visa for an irreplaceable high-earning individual should be child's play for a Japanese corporation, unless that irreplaceable high-earning individual happens to be on Japanese immigration's "never give this person a work visa again" shit-list.

How will it affect her co-workers? What happened? I missed the stream and need to wait for stable connection to download Zilla's archive. I know the stream was a thinly veiled jab at the gunt. Are you worried he's gonna retaliate against the other PC girls?

Hmm. Time to ask Bae if her favorite motorcycle to ride rhymes with 'Suzuki'.
I laughed, but I'd be surprised if any of the talents even know IRyS' surname.

Definitely, numbers are from HoloTracker. Kobo grew almost 3x faster than Ollie so far:
For comparison Chloe and Gura for the fastest growing JP and EN members. Until the 600k threshold Chloe grew faster than Gura but she slowed down especially after hitting 700k:
Worth noting that Chloe's inflection point between 600K and 700K does not correspond to her early break after her grandma's death, which happened around 13 January. In contrast to JP4, ID1 and Myth, JP5 and everyone after Myth have obvious inflection points in their sub growth. Except for Kobo.

Also, ID3 doesn't have the sawtooth pattern EN2 and JP6 got from Youtube sub culls.

(I picked one rep each from JP4, ID1 and JP5 to keep the graph neat.)

Lap-sama original. Very on-brand.

Edit: Lui and Koyori have half-year celebrations scheduled in the next two days, so if Laplus is doing one it would be today:

The fact that back then they were willing to be the first Japanese vtuber corporate to take the risk and delve into ENtubers is already impressive to me, especially when everyone was very unreceptive towards the idea of ENtubers at that time.

Before that, their past branches (ID, CN) and potential branches (KR, IN) were basically them following Niji's footstep.
