Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

Would not be surprised if the shooter was firing at a higher rate than average due to his targets being a huddled group of defenseless 10 year olds. I am not saying send these guys to every call that comes in but when the "shooter in school, multiple casualties" call comes in let these guys go go their thing. When you have a mass shooter the only thing anyone owes him is accurate shot placement, to quote Paul Harrell. There needs to be people on our police forces willing, dare I say enthusiastic to do do this when the time calls.

Maybe you keep them occupied with paper work and far away from normal citizens most of the time but you should have them on speed dial when SHTF.

Fair enough but waiting around until SWAT shows up is not an option in these "one shooter, many targets" situations.
I thought it was settled way back at Columbine that waiting for SWAT just gave a homicidal maniac or 2 more time to kill defenseless victims.
Somehow we still have local PDs unsure of what do to when a mass shooting happens.
When armed resistance shows up most mass shooters surrender or eat a bullet.
I would prefer they all ate a bullet before shooting up a school but better late than never.
Most states don't have the death penalty and these shooters know they can can live out the rest of their life getting respect in the joint as a mass murderer, somthing that has never happened to them outside.
Everyone knows your name, you get the respect of your peers and marriage proposals and noods from random chicks.

Growing up in NYC is an interesting experience. We never have school shootings. Why? Our schools are fucking prisons. Bulletproof windows. Inescapable bars. Metal detectors. Regular Guards with stun guns and a repertoire of chokeholds they're not afraid to use on punk-ass 14 year olds getting out of line and two to four actual NYPD officers just chilling on the perimeter, armed to the teeth and wearing bulletproof vests.
And this was PRE-9/11.
Post 9/11- any chucklefuck daring to making a bomb threat had the HERCULES Team aka NYC'S MILLION DOLLAR AN HOUR CIRCLE JERK chilling in the area waiting for anything to happen.

And I went to one of the high ranking , Fancy-Pants, Gentrified High School in the City.

The worst schools had even more security.

But understand. Any School was the safest fucking place in any burough. Being followed? Don't walk towards the police station. Walk towards the nearest school and walk in. The moment you set your foot in that door, two fucking guards will be like "can we help you?"

Now upstate New York and Long Island are completely fucking cucked. Most people hear the nightmares of Bronx/Queens/Brooklyn/Manhattan and assume the entire state is the same way.
