Random, but did any of you know about this :

Looks alright for what it's worth. Certainly nice to see younger folk get a chance to appreciate the man, the myth, the legend, Bruce Campbell.

I knew about it, yes. From what I got of it it's basically a team-based survival game a la Dead by Daylight, with Evil Dead's characters. I don't particularly care for either franchise so I didn't give it a second look.

That's selling it short. I'm definitely in the camp that both games are good and you should play both, but in terms of comparing the two, NV is pretty much 3 with a new story and environment, some tweaks, and a couple new features - basically a total conversion of 3 rather than a true sequel. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but without 3's engine and the decisions made about how to make an FPS Fallout game, there would have been no foundation upon which NV could be built.
New Vegas isn't good because it's an FPS Fallout game, it's good because of its excellent worldbuilding and writing.

Besides, a bunch of the systems decisions Bethesda made for 3 were just... bad. A lot of what New Vegas improved on the gameplay front was bringing forward mechanics from Fallout 1 and 2 into that environment.

It seems to have gotten a pretty positive response going by youtube videos showing up in my feed.

Anyone have any recommendations for recent games with high skill ceilings and quick death-to-retry times? I don't give a shit about the genre, I just want to die and be back in the game within a second over and over until I nail the strategy.

Good examples of what I'm looking for are Cuphead, Chippy, Seum and Super Meat Boy. I'd probably add 'no roguelikes' to this since running that well dry is what got me into these in the first place.

Man, Dragon Age: Origins really drives home how bad Bioware fucked up on their sequels. Even with its sluggish weirdness the combat's still better than the ADHD mess in 2 or forced Frostbite shit in Inquisition, and even the worst bits of the story are nothing compared to how fucking retarded the writing of the later games was. There's stuff I don't like in Origins and stuff that didn't age well, but I'd still say it's the last game Bioware seemed to give a shit about.

Have you tried Hotline Miami? Celeste might also work to scratch that itch.

How about Melody's Escape and Electronic Super Joy?

So I've been craving some good old fashioned dark fantasy dungeon crawling like in Diablo 2 and I was wondering if there's something to scratch that itch.
Doesn't have to be 2D, though.

Finally figured out how to get Sims 2 to stop taking 10 minutes to start running while caching 99% of my 16gb ram and 8gb vram during that process so no other program can use it until the game starts running (which makes the whole PC completely unusable until that time). I re enabled my Intel CPUs integrated graphics in the bios and told Windows to run the game off that instead, and now it doesn’t throw tard tantrums anymore. There’s also not any noticeable performance hit since the game is so old that basically any integrated graphics chipset can run it at max settings at this point.

I really wanted to enjoy FlatOut 2, but I was getting more and more unreasonably mad over the game rather than finding it fun. I rage cheated and deleted the game at the third stage of the Race tier. All the cars available handled like shit and you basically need to move onto a new car to keep up with the opponents who are pretty bullshit on their own.

At least I can still enjoy the soundtrack because it kicks ass. But it's a shame the game is so bullshit because otherwise it's a heapload of fun.

recommend Hotline miami

call me a sperg for liking these but I've honestly enjoyed the first two chapters of undertake. been one of my favourite gaming experiences as of recently.
'the fantom's autistic though' yeah but that holds no water to me because I just like the games and don't interact with the fandom, unless its the odd music remix or seeing some neat fanart somewhere. Just always like pixel styled games and the idea of going to different worlds each chapter that have their own distinct themes is cool and i think the characters are pretty well too. cant say much as the game is only 2/7ths out but, as an experience now, it's good.
only takes 3-4 hours to complete depending on how good you are at bullethell (all be it on the simpler side) games and if you want to do the genocide route. Not much time lost for a free experience with good music
