Okay third episode. Will put down all the bad shit in it

1. Retard's redemption arc is really inevitable, literally has a moment where she cries over the youngling markings, She is definitely the worst part of the show. Inquisitors are also pretty lame.

2. Vader for some reason lets Obi-Wan go, don't know why or if I viewed the scene wrong.

3. All the sith speak in video game boss dialogue.

Though the only positives I can say about this show are really the OT characters and a few minor side characters are fun, but the Inquisitors drag this shit down.

But I do agree that this kinda messes with canon, but to me all the Disneywars stuff is just so easily divorced from the original 6 movies, I couldn't really give a shit. Lucas isn't running the show, and this is more Kennedy and Filoni's mess.

Obi Wan fights some Jabba thugs who are threatening the Lars/kidnap Luke.

It's so simple yet brilliant I'm sure someone will tell me there were already 12 books on it. He probably didn't even use his lightsaber.

Literally what any person with an iota of competence would do. Would also probably just make it a simple movie since you can't really do much more than a one season wonder with it.

I see a lot of people pitching smaller ideas for the show. Like Obi Wan just fending off some Tuskens or Jabba's men. Obviously that would be better than what we have.

Firstly they won't do Tuskens because that would be racially insensitive now that they've made Tuskens the good guy, nomad, Muslim race in Mando.

Secondly, the reason he leaves Tattooine is because "she's as important as he is". He basically told Organa to get fucked because he was busy defending Luke...you know, the boy who was literally threatened that afternoon by Reva. Reva (because magic) gets in Lars face and threatens to kill him and his whole family. Gets told off by the other inquisitors (for the 10th time) and then tells Lars (in front of Obi Wan) that she'll be back for him.

It is ENTIRELY reasonable Obi Wan would want to stay on Tattooine when Luke has now been directly threatened by the Inquisitors...but no, he gets told that "girls are just as important as boys" so he abandons his ward to possible death to go to where they already know Leia is being help hostage...because Organa doesn't want to "draw attention" by hiring a few bounty hunters.

Ok, you guys don't want to hear it, but this show is comedy gold, and here is why:
- Obi Wan gets in a track with Stormtroopers, and they start questioning him. He replies with "It's a long story", on which a Stormtrooper says "It's a long road"... And leaves the truck the next minute.
- Next, Obi stumbles on some laser fence that prevents vehicles from driving forward. Now, Obi Wan and Leia are on foot , and instead of just walking to the side, they try to break the fence. Why?
- Our girl Reva runs after Leia in some sort of a straight tunnel, clearly chasing AFTER Leia. Yet, when Leia arrives to the exit, she stumbles upon Reva, who somehow outrunned her. Or Reva knows teleportation magic, idk.
- Obi Wan vs. Vader is so bad, I can't believe it actually was made by a professional studio. Looks more like a fan film. Oh, and Vader looks really lame. I don't know if that's the actor, or how they worked with camera, but doesn't look menacing at all.
- Reva is an angry bitch again, and her every line is something an edgy 13 yo would say. I liked that other alien chick way more, at least she is calm and has a better costume.
- When Obi Wan and Bader meet each other in ANH, Vader states that they meet at last, and finally he is better than his teacher. Yet, in today's episode, Vader wiped the floor with Obi. In fact, in ANH, OW seems even weaker than he was in the show. So this shit breaks existing lore again.

On a positive side, there is something I like about this show, and it's Kenobi himself. McGregor clearly knows his job, and his character has some cool development. I like how he went from sassy and brave knight, to a miserable mess with PTSD. Way better than Luke in that regard.
Also I kinda like his interactions with Leia. The actress is not too bad for a kid, and even if she had a very messy introduction, she got better. Although, she looks so pale, it almost makes me concerned. Is she ok?

All and all, it is bad so far. Like, really bad. But I like it in a weird sort of way and find the show entertaining. But then again, my favourite movie ever is Caligula, so I generally love trainwrecks like that.

On a positive side, there is something I like about this show, and it's Kenobi himself. McGregor clearly knows his job, and his character has some cool development. I like how he went from sassy and brave knight, to a miserable mess with PTSD. Way better than Luke in that regard.

He and Hayden are having to carry the show on their back and I appalled them. They know their characters and I feel they’re really trying.

The problem is that the material they’re working with is pure dog shit.

Extremely dark lighting so you can't see what's happening. Constant shaky cam. Low resolution cellphone-like cinematography. During the duel the framing constantly jumping from close up to distant which is disorienting. Bad sound mixing all around.

They had all the money in the world but this shit is the best they could do? Obi and Vader's confrontation in ANH was iconic... but instead of that being the first they see each other in decades, this faggotry is their new canon first reunion. Complete aids. Disney is unbelievably incompetent.

Thinking about how the 70s were a pretty negative decade overall and how Star Wars was a breath of fresh air, it got me wondering where our breath of fresh air entertainment is going to come from. It's not coming from Hollywood. The best show they've got right now is Better Call Saul and that show certainly isn't optimistic. Bollywood is so Indian that it doesn't really have appeal to non-Indians. Chinese media is the same way when it isn't being anti-Japanese propaganda. Vtubers might be today's Star Wars. They're the only kind of content I've seen that's about spreading joy unironically.

I hate to shill Top Gun again so soon after my last post but, well let's just say current year media conditioned me to expect a lot of bullshit from it that I was pleasantly surprised to see completely absent. It actually subverted my expectations by not subverting them at all, you see every line and payoff coming from a mile away but it plays them completely straight without a hint of irony, it's practically the anti-TLJ and not in a completely retarded way like TROS was.

I'm seeing a clip going around that is literally just Obi-Wan hallucinating Anakin standing in the distance, staring at him. And according to the comments, a dude in a bath robe standing in some random dessert in Space Mexico is the most chilling shit in all of Star Wars.
