The humans in this game feel off for some reason, I think it's because of the more realistic proportions they have compared to the monsters themselves.

The series has more or less stayed the same ever since Red & Blue came out, and I don't expect Scarlet & Violet to be particularly challenging, either. It doesn't even feel like a JRPG anymore, it's difficult to even differentiate this from other monster collecting games now that are made by fans who grew up with Pokemon. It's lost its identity, but that's been while in the making.
Sonic and Pokemon have both disappointed me today, but it's my fault for having any optimism.
I kind of assumed that it was an item that only worked on one of your critters? Please, for the love of God, let us turn off the exp. share this time...
I don't really mean the challenge level, more how it looks. Someone said Toby Fox is composing for it too. If I wanted some zoomer white kid's indie game I'd play one.The series has more or less stayed the same ever since Red & Blue came out, and I don't expect Scarlet & Violet to be particularly challenging, either.
I think it was in Gen 6 that now its a key item that you activate and all your party pokémon get EXP. Starting with Gen 8 its a mandatory featureI kind of assumed that it was an item that only worked on one of your critters?
Nah now they'll force rare candies on all your pokemon every 3 levels. Please, for the love of God, let us turn off the exp. share this time...
Nope. EXP shares started affecting all your Pokémon in gen 6 and is forced on in every single switch game. It's really stupid, it not only makes EV training a royal PITA but also means you are overleveled AF by the second gym.I kind of assumed that it was an item that only worked on one of your critters?
It used to be that way, but since Sword and Shield it gives all pokemon in your party exp after a battle. You have it from the start of the game and it can't be turned off. This results in your party becoming overleveled very early and the entire game is a cake walk. Even if you actively try to make it difficult by rotating in pokemon with bad stats and typings, you will breeze through everything.I kind of assumed that it was an item that only worked on one of your critters?
Oh, I stopped playing the series right before the Switch games on account of how easy the games already was.It used to be that way, but since Sword and Shield it gives all pokemon in your party exp after a battle. I get that its a kids game and its meant to be easy, but give them some credit, most had no problem beating red and blue back in the day. The removal of even the option of a challenge makes the whole experience very dull for us autistic manchildren who still play it also.
Children cannot be challenged in any way, they must be coddled 100% of the time or they may have to actually exert some effort or find out they're not good at something, and thats literal murder. It used to be that way, but since Sword and Shield it gives all pokemon in your party exp after a battle. So, Heart Gold/Soul Silver? All I want is crystal with gen 3 or 4 graphics
Those changed the gameplay too though, so it's not strictly what he wants but close enough. So, Heart Gold/Soul Silver?
Yeah and I want Nintendo to re-release Pokemon Stadium 1 + 2 for the Switch/STEAM with online support but I doubt either of our ideas seem enticing, or practical to Miyamoto/GameFreak/Whoever the fuck runs the show. For a thread with a near non-stop stream of doom and gloomposting how Pokemon has been ruined forever, people here still want The proven-incompetent Pokemon Company to give them their hopes & desires packaged within a video game. I honestly don't get it.Those changed the gameplay too though, so it's not strictly what he wants but close enough.
I just want Crystal with online support for NSO.
I'm pretty sure Crystal was on 3DS with at least local wireless play, shouldn't be much of an ask for it on NSO with its standard online features, especially now that 3DS eShop is going down.Yeah and I want Nintendo to re-release Pokemon Stadium 1 + 2 for the Switch/STEAM with online support but I doubt either of our ideas seem enticing, or practical to Miyamoto/GameFreak/Whoever the fuck runs the show. Gen 2 just had a really stupid wild pokemon encounter level table and I can pin that a lot on the shape of the region - while it's nice to be wide open, that meant they had to balance it around someone heading right from Jasmine to Pryce. So a massive middle chunk of the game had pokemon hovering around those early levels - if you didn't know real early on what you wanted then it was hell catching up.For what it's worth, the EXP Share being permanently on is only a thing in Let's Go, SWSH, and BDSP.
Let's face it, early Pokemon games had a fucktarded difficulty curve (especially Gen 2), so I kind of get why they've been making the games easier, and shit, but they really are overcompensating for it nowadays.
I'm fine with the EXP Share being a thing since I've never really cared about Pokemon being particularly challenging, or anything, but I do think having no way to turn it off is stupid, and a step too far.
