Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I'm not a fan of the Scarlet box legendary because of the weird ass wheel protruding from its throat.
What do you have against Gigan?

Well, until the war came. The final war.

And I'm posting these because I'm pretty sure this guy was the inspiration. Or at least my mind says so.
I don't think the Scarlet legendary really looks like Gigan, as much as I'd like for there to be a Gigan-inspired pokemon I know GF would fuck it up royally.

I'm still not really convinced about gen 9. Yeah they've got battle animations now but it still looks incredibly unpolished and seeing potentially four rivals makes me instinctively think they're going to be nothing but railroaders rather than actual challenges.

Then how do you know that the Scarlet legendary isn't the result of the fuck up?
Because the Scarlet legendary has elements of the quetzalcoatl (feathers, snake-like body) and amphibians (webbed fingers), whereas Gigan is more avian and sharp-looking. The bit with spikes on its chest looks more like a tyre too. Not to mention the lack of armor covering this guy if we're going to include Millennium Gigan. Of course I could be wrong, but that's my thoughts on it.

Both the box legendaries look a lot more like digimon than pokemon to me too now that I think about it.

So, Heart Gold/Soul Silver?
I'll be honest I stopped following pokemon after diamond/pearl and assumed that HG/SS were just graphical upgrades. However, it looks like they have most of the crystal content as well.

I might have to give them a try, if it wasnt so hard to find a authentic copy....
For what it's worth, the EXP Share being permanently on is only a thing in Let's Go, SWSH, and BDSP.
So every single main pokemon game on switch other then arceus.
Let's face it, early Pokemon games had a fucktarded difficulty curve (especially Gen 2), so I kind of get why they've been making the games easier, and shit, but they really are overcompensating for it nowadays.
That's ironic, since Gen II is considered to be too easy in its original form, to the point that you can beat the game without really caring about training at all.

A lot of people consider HG/SS to be the best game(s) in the series, and for good reason. In addition to the upgrades you’d expect from a DS remake, it also updates the mechanics, stats, etc. to gen 4 standards (including major changes like the physical/special split), adds some new side-content all throughout the game, mini games that use the touch screen, modern Pokemon in later areas, that sort of thing; and those are just the changes off the top of my head. The difficulty is about the same as the original, except it spikes up to “fuck you” levels at the end of the post-game.

The one new addition I don’t like (albeit a minor one) is that there’s a new key item called GB Sounds that replaces the music with the original game’s soundtrack, including new 8-bit versions of songs that were made for the remake. At least, that’s what it’s supposed to do; they kinda half-assed it, so the “original” songs sound like generic unauthentic chiptune remixes. And you don’t even get this item until post-game.

Already love these new designs more than galar mons
I guess someone at game freak really hated Britain and wanted to make it the absolute worst region for some reason lmao
IIRC, they actually had that one British employee James Turner help out a lot with development. I also recall way back around X/Y when it was released, some of the Gamefreak employees visited Spain so they were probably planning this game for a while. Typically they tend to visit countries that they want to base Pokemon games on for inspiration hence why a lot of times they are popular vacation spots for Japanese people.

I know which is weird because unlike alot of people I really like alot of turners mons but as an art director he just dropped the ball

If this game has been thought up for 9 years that would be insane, probably just choose spain because they couldn't travel during covid, thus choosing a location they already did research on

Hence why fans have been going on and on about a new region based on Australia, but I doubt any of the employees want to explore the Outback on their own dime.

I just want my South American region, dammit. Maybe basing this new region on Spain will help with that, but lol no way Game Freak and Nintendo would ever touch the history of the Conquistadors.
