She's been suing her father currently and labeling document requests or doing a deposition as abuse (while also demanding her father do a deposition).

That's how self-absorbed they are. That's how invested in these people they are. I got invested because I had the time and to me it was a clear case of a man being wrongly accused and destroyed and continuing to be abused that finally told his abuser to fuck off.

I wanted to see how that played out. I think every single one of us has known an Amber. We all want to see that Amber get stitched up for once. This case is an anomaly and has nothing to do with DV towards women. It had everything to do with a scummy piece of shit fabricating "evidence" and essentially mocking actual victims for attention and to make JD pay. If you can identify with being abused, you see her for what she is and you almost put your experience in this place and really wanted vindication for a man who was discarded like a fucking kleenex simply because of what she said.

No evidence, no corroboration, no medical records, no police reports, but plenty of pics of some bullshit. They'd have these great big fights where he supposedly beat her to a pulp yet the only pics from those incidents are property damage. Nothing about her supposed injuries. That's fucking unbelievable and when you see someone insulting your intelligence to the extent she tried it, you want to see them get put in their place.

I'm hoping this has a major impact on this culture we have of jumping the gun before we know what's going on.

Yeah, it's just a pet peeve of mine. It's like that edit of "this is extremely dangerous to our democracy", which lists only murdoch properties. The Washington Post, where the defamatory article was posted/printed, has their home offices in Virginia, giving the Virginia court jurisdiction over the case. You can't just pick and choose what state you want to have your lolsuit in, the courts have to have jurisdiction. If there are multiple states involved, then you can pick and choose between those states. The court also has to find that they DO have jurisdiction over the case as well. You can't just say "I don't like California's laws, let's file suit in Florida" unless there's some sort of Florida connection in the case already. And if the judge says "Sorry, we don't have jurisdiction here," you'll have to file the suit somewhere else.
