General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

GGN is so interesting, VTubing-wise. They're permanently collabed with each other. They're Japanese but seem to work exclusively in English? Their voice is undoubtedly cutesy, but not quite in the usual uwu-type. Their merch is older than their channel is.

I'm genuinely curious how it all works. Does the company see them as a source of money? A side project? Or a tool for promotion? Do they physically stream from the same place? Why did they choose English exclusively anyway?
I wouldnt be suprised if it was viable for MangaGamer (the company that published the first (and only) Go Go Nippon VN all the way back in 2011) to just have a very small and simple vtubing gig for at best two VAs, maybe for some future free advertising or promotion, or maybe just a vanity project, maybe they'll pull out more minor VN characters they have a license to in order to make them into more and more vtubers, since at that point you already have a character and vauge personality set, that they can then use to shill for more VNs

Wait, are you seriously saying HoloX are underperforming compared to Holoro and Council/Hope? Or do you mean in a general sense in which case I agree.
In general sense of course. I’m extra salty because IRyS get shafted even more despite she’s physically in Japan atm. She’s a stand alone project and she should get more support, the FrameRys and cardboardRys thing was funny sure but everything else get “delay”. The only “sin” she had is that she’s a hafu and not full JP hence she had been shafted since her early career time as utatie even if by talent alone she should be in top tier singer.

This literal hugbox is the "pellow" Pippa bought for her flights. Had a bigass howler of a laugh at the chat messing with her rampant pipkin

They're Japanese (not 100% sure on this) but seem to work exclusively in English?
They are Japanese. If you go back to their first videos, they stumbled a bit with English and would break into Japanese every other sentence.

MangaGamer owns them and the original developer team is no longer a thing if I recall. the only person that is still around from original GGN is the creator. The artist for the models, manager, and one supplying the equipment and room for them are all Japanese. They are working on a sequel to GGN, but it hasn't been confirmed yet if the creator will have a team with him supplied by MangaGamer or be a solo production.

With what you said though, they are very unique vtuber creation. Something that existed from previous media, but doesn't feel like a cheap cash grab. Also there being two characters for ongoing streams is unique as well. I do quite enjoy them (as you can tell with my whoring of them), but I do think they are a very unique niche in the vtubing sphere that you really don't see often of. I also think they are adorable and something nice to watch that isn't negative or chaotic (at times) and can make you smile after a tough day. definitely a more family friendly vtuber as well.

EDIT: yeah original developers were Overdrive and they ceased operations recently.

So remember how I made those two posts about how the english name for the category that Coco is in kept changing? First it was Og (archive), then it was alumni, (Unfortunately, I have no evidence for this, as I didn't take a screenshot and no version of the page with the category named alumni seems to be archived, but I swear to god I saw it was named that at some point) and then finally Alumnae (archive). Well, it changed again, and now the category is just Alum. This is more accurate considering there's only one person in the category right now. The japanese version of the page's categories have had the same names since the site first opened.

Annoyingly, the two categories I complained about still have their titles incorrectly formatted. What should be Gen-1 is still "1stgen", and what should be Project: HOPE is still "project-hope".

You guys are way too dramatic. It was an ok movie, it was meh. The only truly horrible part was the end credit scenes trying to fit it into the MCU/venom-verse. But no matter the movie the morbin meme was "funny" for about a day and now it is past stupid. But every "clever" kid on the internet thinks they are hilarious shoehorning it into every interaction.

You guys whining about feeling old because you are in your 20s or 30 need to come back in a decade or so. And get off my vLawn!
Pretty much this i was one of the very few people who watched it in the theater because of Spider-Man 90s nostalgia when he had hand suckers and it was fine
Matt Smith was the best part tho and i prolly wouldn't watch again but i liked it
Smh..not even the best Danganronpa girl. For shame.
Wow way to pick the most bland DR girl
Maki is the correct answer btw

I surfed to the end of the 30 pages i had to catch up on with highlights so forgive any lateness that might ensue

Have to say it's rather ironic that MangaGamer would lead to a family friendly vtuber, being how many of their releases are R-18 content.

Turns out she had permissions to play it for a while

It is. They played a few R-18 VN on stream before (of course without lewd), but you do bring up a funny point. Lemme see if I can find the image of the MangaGamer stand at a recent con full of hentai and then the two sisters lmao.

EDIT: couldn't find one from a good angle but it is funny.

I think the word you're looking for is passion project.

Coomervuber gets angry at her fans for shipping her with friends.
The same Coomtuber that built an audience of Coomers because of her sexual jokes and flirting towards Cdawgva,
But come on guys that's just an out of context cringe clip...

I mean to be fair there's a big difference between dick and boob jokes and fantasizing two real people are in a relationship

The game they come from has an content warning for nudity and sexual themes on steam so they aren't exactly squeaky clean either. Definitely not fucking house party or whatever the hell selen is playing but it isn't mickey mouse clubhouse

ngl House Party game actually looks worth playing when it's discounted. Seems like a very funny game with stupid shit you can do in it.
