This cultural climate is so retarded because all you do when you don't treat diversity matter of factly is sow resentment and give people a reason to be racist.

By shining a spotlight on "black voices" the message you're inherently sending is that black people are more important than other groups, you're creating a division where there used to not be one, it's completely counterintuitive to creating a diverse culture.

You're probably not going to witness stuff like this much longer.

Many corporations already found out that Juneteenth is just Kwanzaa in June, which means it's about as unmarketable and they can't make a buck on seasonal items like every other normal Holiday. I'm pretty sure large retailers like Walmart just decided to cancel stuff because it's customer base didn't give a shit.

That simplifies shit way too fucking much. We already have the fighting game community which is known for it's eccentric mix of individuals from all walks of life and they've still gathered routinely for a long ass time.

What the black voices shit is is stuff designed by a marketing team. It's marketers targeting a specific demographic hoping to get a larger rate of return. It comes off as tone deaf because generally they are tone deaf people who make these things.

I mean they're right in the sense that she's the first Black/African American female character who was part of the base roster, Elena wasn't american in origin she's basically the same as Obama they're both from kenya.

Not only that but games like Gran Blue Fantasy Vs had stuff like that too. Except the one button commands had a cooldown and also you could perform the same moves with normal joystick commands which were not under that restriction.

Currently many games are trying to grapple with ease of access because of what the smash scene did to the FGC as a whole, and eventually one will get it right. There's still strong demand to make a fighter that balances between the technical and the low learning curve of something like a party fighter.

Personally, I'd really like to see a game play similar to powerstone. That may be the ideal mix of everything in the end.

It's easy to do the abilities
There's items that give you specific benefits
The arenas have varied terrain

There's enough variables where skilled and unskilled players could still be matched together and have a decent fight. FGC would want to sterilize stuff like that and remove any type of chance. But it's honestly no different than actual real life fighting like Battle Bots where there are arena hazards and chances of having the boss bots kick your shit in.
