Yeah the posts on the plate carriers go way back, the carriers were made by ConquestThread and they look like the patterns were never meant to leave the 2D drawings as they don't properly conform when holding plates. The plates they got were literal scrap riveted together by Earthside Manufacturing.
A lot of plate carriers for srs business do omit the side protection. For example the Crye JPC is Gucci and it's meant to be minimalist. It's really easy to hit the point of diminishing returns with rifle-rated body armor, so the ribcage is the main focus. Plate carriers are very unflattering on people who are not in shape because they're meant to be life-saving instruments and not cover gunt or manboobs - they cover vital organs so fat people always look stupid wearing them.

I'd seen pictures of our troons in them before but never really watched the videos to see them in movement. I knew they were larping but I hadn't seen just how hard until now. Those move and fire drills. Jesus fucking christ. Jesus fucking christ. By the time Penny is in position any decent shooter has had a bead on him and sent a quarter of their mag in his direction.

These are the vests you'd use if you are attacking or otherwise can control the fact you'll be taking fire from the front. If they are really concerned about earl with multiple shooters in a seige situation where the paramedics hate trannies and will leave them to die, they need to have plates that are going to stop side and abdominal wounds. You get a shooter 30 degees off center and you will either have a bunch of bodies or a bunch of casualties that you can wait to bleed out. This is even more excellent considering their training is 100% based around assault on positions, meaning you could drop some trannies with life-threatening but not mortal wounds outside of the defended perimeter. The trannies then have to listen to the falsetto squeals of their comrades yelling for help until the blood loss makes them too weak to yell, or send out more to try to pull them back in.


That plate is fine on that woman. It is placed and adjusted properly, squared off to the front so bullets hit it and stop, not deflect up. While it doesn't offer side protection, her security detail should provide that. It'd also be fine for someone like a bank guard who should be dealing with one adversary and should be facing them.

We could be here for days on tactics sperging but the biggest take away is this: "their training is 100% based around assault on positions". If they really did fear for their safety and anticipate the Tranch being attacked they would be putting all of the money and time spent on tacticool gizmos and "move to contact" drills into building defensive fighting positions and training to break contact and move to those defensive positions. It's been established a thousand times over that Phil and co. are larping hard but they could at least larp in a way that prepares them for the most likely engagement they'll face.
