It's sad to see so many legacies tossed aside, to make way for what? The sweet manna of better performing quarterly financial reports?
can someone more tech savy than me pull up some finance records from disney and show if this whole "pride capitalism" is actually bringing in even a temporary boost in sales? Who is this shit made for? most parents (the "normal" ones) Will either shake their heads and ignore this pride shit or even be flat out outraged by it, the actual lqbtzrstuvwxyz community wont care as much and some aren't fooled by this and know its just a token gesture to make money off them, and everyone else wont care. Does doing this every June actually net better sales for them?

They haven't even been able to responsibly handle Marvel since phase 4 kicked off and come to think of it I don't even know of anything half decent they have come out with since Endgame.
Endgame should've been the moment that the Marvel Studios people stopped, stepped back to look at what they'd achieved, and given the mainline movies a short break. They could've continued with TV and streaming mini-series for awhile, while behind the scenes everyone brainstormed and tried to plot out what the next phase of films would look like - what heroes they'd bring in, what comic stories they could adapt, and what the big overall arc of the next series of movies would be.

But the Rat's insatiable appetite meant instead they'd continue to run the movie conveyor belt, pumping out a bunch of increasingly forgettable films of more and more obscure and "literally who?" heroes, with the overall "arc" of the movies appearing to be as unfocused and aimless as the Star Wars sequel trilogy. A shame.

God, I just realized. They're only remaking Lilo & Stitch just because the director's a white man, isn't it? Reminds me of when that one woman bent the knee and pulled her book that was set in Hawaii about hula dancing and she had lived in the state for a time prior to moving to North Carolina, but she's whiter than sour cream and that's "cultural appropriation".

It's just so gross.
Reminds me of the crazy woman (can't recall her name) on social media who spends her days reeing that tourists should be banned from Hawaii because cultural appropriation and she doesn't want to share the island with whitey. You just know that if all non-native Hawaiians packed up and left right now, so they could be left to forge the same living as their ancestors, she'd be howling with rage that she'd have to fish or farm for a living instead of bitching on social media.

Final televised appearance of Walt before his death in 66. He's like an old grandpa talking to his grandkids by the fireplace. Hard to believe he had only one functioning lung left and was almost out of sand in his hourglass when this was filmed. There's also something almost prophetic about his final words being "You're not only going to laugh a lot but shed a few happy tears. I'm sorry I can't be with you personally." He was half right tears would be shed...but not in happiness.

I'm kinda glad he's not around to see what's been done with his life's work.

well okay I'm not gonna cry
>Uncle Walt does the double finger smokepoint by instinct
>his name is Kurt Russell
>but you're going to shed a few happy tears
>I'm sorry I cant be there personally

oh look, strange how it started raining at this time of night
;_;

He Mele No Lilo is honestly my favourite Disney song. Actual Hawaiian childrens choirs are probably too white and colonialist now so I'm mildly curious what garbage it's gonna be replaced with.
This is the Kamehameha (yes, really) choir who sang for the soundtrack.

The great thing about the original film was that it didn't deal in Hawaiian cliches. Anyone else would have put steel guitars over the film. Instead they decided to set the film to Elvis. (And they never used "Blue Hawaii".)
Also there was this deleted scene that seemed out of place but will probably be put in the remake because of how on the nose it is.

With David Ogden Stiers deceased, some unfunny hack will likely voice Jumba. My guess will be James Corden.

At work so I can't watch the video, but I take it that's the tsunami siren scene. I'm pretty sure it was dropped because it directly led into a scene where Stitch kills Pudge the fish and Lilo buries him with her parents. I don't think they ever gave a reason for why it was dropped, but I'll take a guess that both test audiences (mothers) found it too dark and the team felt it revealed too much too soon about Lilo.

Poor Chris Sanders, now cancelled by the Woke Brigade.

Reminded he did this in college...

If the United States didn't grabbed and annexed Hawaii when it did. Someone else would've very shortly snatched Hawaii up and they wouldn't give a single fuck about the natives or their removal if need be. The islands are too strategically placed for a great or wannabe great power not to grabbed them.

Awww, I think you mean he's got echolalia. He doesn't have echolocation unless he is an autistic bat.
Ah shit, you're right. I hadn't heard the term in years, I just knew it had "echo" in it. But sometimes you gotta wonder, y'know?

Also speaking of autism, are they gonna try to cast an actual autistic to be Lilo in the remake because the autism headcanon for Lilo is popular (on Tumblr), or did Music fuck that up for movies the time being?

Just when I think Tumblr couldn't be anymore retarded. Lilo is the way she is because she LOST HER PARENTS, DUMB SHITS. NOT BECAUSE SHE'S AUTISTIC. Shit like this is why I don't claim to be part of the autistic "community" despite being diagnosed.

Suddenly got reminded of this Disney post.

Disney is pretty huge on Tumblr, but Lilo & Stitch and Emperor's New Groove were the most non-Frozen popular properties among the users there. #relatable or something like that.
