Alec beat me to it. Chris isn't caring for anyone, not even himself, but least of all Burp. Sure, he may go down to the Stop 'n Slop to buy her some food, but it's not like he's making sure she goes to regular doctor checkups, is eating well, going outside so she's not sedentary all day, or anything else that would actually qualify as "taking care" of someone. Hell, he doesn't even do those things for himself.
