E3 (but not really) 2022

And we still don’t know when that’s coming, if at all.

This has genuinely been one of the worst sets I’ve seen.
Even if we don't get a Direct this week or next week, the idea of one is better than everything shown so far combined.

Were there even any hotties at this year's show? I haven't seen any content about Milk Truck 2022.

2016 was a decent vintage.

Man... what the actual fuck has happened to this industry? This isn't normal. Half of the games showed off throughout this farce are already fucking out. The rest are either indie trash or the most barebones mediocre attempt at AAA that seems less advanced that what we got last gen.

Capcom's showcase was a joke, but Microsoft's was just baffling. Anyone who argued that Gamepass wasn't going to cause cheapness in game development has egg on their face now. Fucking idiots who prattle on about "creative" indie games that all look the same are part of the problem. The whole industry seems intent on decaying into the mess that is the mobile market.

Oh it's going to get worse before it gets better. Case in point: Vampire survivors. A single dev has massive success with a decent little idea, bought art assest pack and low price point. Now every 2 bit uncreative wannabe is going to try to copy the game with " like Vampire Survivors but with <blank>".

As for the big developers: games just take too long to make for yearly conferences now.

Nintendo needs to release some type of Ring Fit sequel that involves doing jumping jacks and have Audrey Drake demo it

It's all about chasing trends and getting the one week bump now. The western games industry is pretty much identical to the movie industry at this stage. Just put out the same shit with slightly different characters and get that "opening weekend" money before interest falls off a cliff.

Indie devs do the same thing on a smaller scale and also cash in on the consoomers who will buy anything they've added to their wishlist because they've been told that Indie Farming Sim #675 is great by some guy who definitely isn't being paid to say that.

Gamepass is a weird one. Some months it delivers 3 or 4 solid titles that are maybe a year old and the next month it is all utter fucking shite that launches day 1 on the service to pad the count. I'm cheapo-subbed up till late 2023 but they'll have to really pull out all the stops to keep me paying for it after that.

Overall, the industry is in pretty bad shape and i honestly couldn't name something off the top of my head that i am looking forward to in the couple of years.

When will vidja get good again? The industry just gets worse every single year.
It depends on what you think is bad about it.

If it's woke/LGBTQ shit maybe 5 or 10 years if you're lucky and the full DIE agenda doesn't take hold.

If it's just the lack of creativity/copy and paste nature of the industry right now, maybe never? I honestly can't think of anything new or creative that could be done at this point, which just might be the natural point you reach when things get *realistic* enough and so many ideas have been done.

At least we still have the FFVII 25th anniversary livestream on Thursday to look forward to, and there is no way they will fuck that up by showing a bunch of shitty mobile games no one cares about instead of showing the trailer for FFVII Remake Part 2 right? ...right? guys?
Worse, they're going to show mobile games that are almost like games you want but shit by being mobile, like Front Mission 2089 and the FF7 remake that is an actual remake and not some weirdo sequel. Total shit you can easily ignore, these are much more annoying

Dude that shit is already actively being dried up.

Companies are recoiling after what happened to Disney. Fox news even made a bunch of specials warning people about Transexuals and wokeness.

It's why this June has been rather quiet compared to last.
