The Baha'i faith isn't homophobic, the Universal House of Justice has stated they support LGBT rights. It is just not permitted for believers to have gay sex, just like all the other things banned. It's also explicitly not allowed for anyone to force someone to comply with Baha'i law and nobody in the faith can punish anyone else for not complying. Morality and compliance to God's law do not count unless the individual does it of their own free will. God loves everyone including the gay

It's not about "being on God's good side", as though there is a checklist of things you need to do and not do. It's guidance from God and it's explicitly said that each believer chooses for themself what to do. It's a map, not a checklist. If someone takes a few wrong turns, that doesn't mean they won't still end up near to God, it may just take them a bit longer. It's said that every soul, whatever harm has been done to it, will eventually be close to God.
The reason for this is because the sexual urge, which is necessary for the existence of our species, is also something that can become very twisted and corrupt, *as you can see from this thread*. It can become very evil. Like most religions, the Baha'i faith therefore says you should be chaste unless you are married to someone (and therefore, are procreating with them and have responsibility for them.) This is also because the family unit is very important. This thread is not proof God doesnt exist, if anything, I think this thread is a warning for those who reject divinity and embrace consumerism.
