General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I look at this tweet and I realize just how much Ollie is loved/well known in the general community despite not pulling the viewer numbers that she deserves. I realize that Cover isn't actually holding their talents back from collabing and connecting with talents outside Hololive (at least, Ollie's managers doesn't), but that it's the talents that mainly stick to themselves and their communities. I don't watch much of Ollie, but as far as I heard the girl is *literally* everywhere, even at the chat of the most obscure indies.

There is some degree of management trying to control EN's collaborative attempts outside HL, like what we see with Kiara and Pomu, but I now feel stupid that I was one of the people shitting on Cover for absolutely restricting their girls to collab. I just realized that Myth is just busy most of the time, and that 3 of them are anti-social NEETs. So is the rest of Council with the exception of Bae, and even Bae was able to collab with people outside Hololive.

I say this, but I still want that Fauna/Kiara and Pomu collab.
I thought Kronii was an extrovert? Didn't they have some meet up where only Kronii could complain about a wrong order? She doesn't strike me as not having issues speaking with people.
Yeah people kinda forget that only 2 out of 3 Myth members are actually sociable. Ina is an actual Neet who works a professional artist job on top of Hololive, Ame is actually surprisingly shy and only really works with fan content creators for projects, and Gura might as well be considered not-interactable unless your actually part of Hololive or Hololive affiliated.
Ina is by definition not a neet even ignoring hololive employing her. Shes a paid artist, therefore employed. Her living with her parents makes sense given Canada is expensive as fuck for housing. I also didn't think Gura was introverted given her attitude to streams and using her free time to help animal shelters.

Since we are speculating introvert/extrovert, what are the ID girls like? Ollie seems to have no problem socializing so I would say extrovert, not sure about others. Its kinda hard to judge given peoples persona on streams clash with what you hear about off stream, e.g. Pekora being quiet and shy.

It may be more a case of an outgoing introvert. It's not that introverts are always shy and quiet but rather, they tend to lose energy as they socialize as opposed to an extrovert who gains energy by socializing. So someone like Kiara and Ollie would definitely be more outwardly extroverted, while Gura could possibly be more of an outgoing introvert. Could be the same case with Kronii as well, people generally tend to think introverts are quiet, shy and mousy when it's likely they can go about their day interacting just fine with or without friends around them.

MeAqua is back with a Nisemonogatari song:
I also thought they don't interact anymore publicly because Mea panders billibilli and Aqua is hated by them since the Taiwan incident.
Speaking of Aqua, there was a discussion in the past how much of Aqua's akwardness is just an act. The recent stories from Lamy, Koyori and Lui about Aqua confirm once more how she seems to be really a stereotypic anime moe blob in real life.

People always assume that if you act one way in the past, that's how you will act the rest of your life. In fact, many people call it hypocrisy whenever anyone shows any sign of change or growth if they don't agree with the way they are changing.

I used to be very outgoing and spent more nights out than I did at home, partying etc with a very large friend circle. Then one day I woke up and, even though nothing had changed externally, for some reason just couldn't live life the same way anymore.

So I'm perfectly happy to give Aqua the benefit of the doubt since everything we hear about her, first or third party, in recent times is very consistent.

Kronii goes to the gym constantly and was pretty much the designated adult during the off-collab. Even Ina goes hiking, goes to the store by herself, and a lot of her roommate photos were her with friends. Gura works at an animal shelter and most of her personal stories are her weird interactions with people when she's out.

I think Ame is the only one that seems close to being an actual reclusive.

'I need time for myself' is just not a phrase you use when you were physically injured.

I know she says she wasn't thinking, but that tweet reads like it was worded deliberately.

EDIT: It is now apparently MATI to question the wording of tweets to which the wording led to a misunderstanding that caused the tweets to be posted here in the first place. Im learning new things every day.
She's ESL and potentially high on pain meds/adrenaline. I think it's more reasonable to believe her story without anything else to go on.

Maybe I should watch these two
Source
Some select clips of these gremlins.

While Pomu will still act normalish and only cross the line into degenerate stuff occasionally, Millie has crossed the line and built a house on the other side.

The game is criminally underrated and needs more people to give it a shot. If you even remotely like Sci-fi, pick up a copy and play it. I don't even care if you use an emulator, just play the game.
I agree with most of that tho I have one correction
Anyone who has play 13S has given it high ratngs
So its not really underrated its more overlooked
But yea even if its on an emulator PLAY IT
I guess the "sorry" part is to be highlighted.

Sorry, for what?
Maybe sorry for being a klutz in her mind?

Ollie is def Ex
Every other ID strikes me as Introvert

Iirc Kronii denied being an extrovert during that discussion let me see if i can find it

Here she discusses being the designated leader when it comes to strangers and the way she says what she said to the strangers sounds like the way I would do it as an introvert very sheepishly with short sentences
Edit: She also said that she would have wanted to be as reserved and non-interactive as them but she figured someone had to step up and get it over with
Here she joins the others in saying she refuses to meet the uber eats guy in person or answer phone calls she doesn't recognize

I'm on Subaru's camp on this "issue". The whole "introvert/extrovert" divide is snakeoil-tier bullshit, hawked by the same upstanding fellas that run around convincing children to take Myers-Briggs quizzes in hopes to further split and mold people for the sole purpose of glowops.

As i posted before but ill throw some more tips in.
Look i would recommend before even starting with anything and i mean anything you drill Hira and Kana into your brain till you know it better than English because without that your brain is just gonna die. The biggest mistake people make is thinking they know it then trying to study grammar. Please learn it fluently to the point were if a symbol appeared your brain immediatly goes i know that.

Start with learning grammar the biggest problem for most people is this including me i just started learning vocab thinking that grammar would come naturally no study it learn it. The thing with Japanese sentances that i didnt mention before is that you can say them in anyway

Japanese, along with other asian languages, are context based, which means that in order to understand what you read most of the times you are required to read context previous to those sentences. Additionally, Japanese is a language that is read by blocks of text, which means that most if not almost all sentences can be rearranged in whatever order the reader wants (as long as these blocks have correct grammar usage in them.

Kanji are formulaic, and the way to read them is quite easy.
If the kanji is singled out and is surrounded by hiragana, assume its ALWAYS read with its kun reading (Japanese reading). Kun readings tend to be accompanied with each kanji’s specific verb terminations.
If you see two or more kanjis together you read them with “On” reading (Chinese reading).
There is no set order you have to follow, but I highly recommend certain kanji memorizations taking priority over others: numbers, subject-related kanjis (ore, watashi, boku, ware…), basic movement kanjis (coming and going, returning home, etc…). Also, learn the kunyomi reading of the kanjis, since they’re always related to verbs

Honestly if you have time and a fuck ton of money find a language school in Japan to go to. You can easily get N2-N1 In like 2 years.
I've been studying a little over 6 years now and i know roughly like 2040 Kanji thats what the average Japanese person knows anything after that and you are scholar level
Look there are times when you wanna just give up i did like 3 times but honestly the moment when you've studied for like 3+ years and everything just clicks nothing compares dont give up its a daunting challenge believe me but if you really wanna do it then you will have the will power to pull through.
And please for the love of god take classes with native speakers. Japanese people are mostly friendly and kind when you express an interest in their culture/language they will help you and fairly critisice you. Getting a fucking know it all westerner who thinks he's amazing will ruin it they are the worst. They will just bully you for not knowing basic things.

Another big problem is that when most people start they dont have a goal E.g. Reading, Speaking or Listening always start with one because your brain is just gonna burn out trying to learn all three take it easy and at your own pace. I went with Reading -> Listening -> Speaking.
As i mentioned in my last post about this its a very difficuly language you honestly feel for the first 7-12 months that you arent going anywhere but you are trust me, its a grind.
Not gonna lie, I was interested in giving it a go (managed to learn English somehow, and a third language would always be helpful), but after this post I don't really know if I wanna do it. Even the kanas have been a colossal struggle, so if this is how far it goes, I don't know if I'd actually be cut out for this. It doesn't help that trying to find resources has been a mess in itself. Everyone says that textbooks only really teach you a strict formal format that sometimes isn't even used in casual conversations, and that apps do the same but for babies. If you ask those same linguists what they'd recommend though, they just shill their own courses, and a lot of the time the websites look the same as those scam e-books you'd get in popups.

As far as the Pomu chat, yeah, she'll probably need to either keep it member until this blows over, or have her mods on high alert.

Weren't all the Ina photos somewhat old? Spending time with friends a few years ago is not a guarantee that she and her friends still make time to do things together currently, especially as they get older and accumulate various career and/or family responsibilities.

Maybe, but it shows that she has no problem being social. In the recent off-collab the others talked about how surprised they were with how active and friendly she was.

It's a "blood in the water" moment so while it'll definitely die down eventually it'll probably never fully go away. One thing that surprises me is that she both thought it was a good idea and then decided to try to pursue being an "idol". I'm not that well versed in the idol scene but I'm fairly sure nudes would kill your career no? They should make something like this required reading. Regardless of the poor decision making I do hope she doesn't get yeeted from it (the pirated content being the most likely reason) and it doesn't negatively impact a lot of the collabs she does since Selen + Pomu, Elira + Pomu, and MLP are a lot of fun.

Edit: And we're back to free chat.

Again, we don't really know if those nudes were actually her.

In other news, it happened:
