So the States now decide what to do with abortion? So everything stays the same. Red states will restrict or out right ban it and blue states will expand it. Nothing changed. If you want an abortion in a red state drive or fly a state over and get one. If you can afford an abortion then you can afford a plane ticket. Dementia Joe and Congress could pass a law making it legal on a federal level but that would require them doing something. Status Quo remains the same.

Congress could literally enshrine into federal law that women can get abortions. That's the exact job of the legislature when the judicial branch says "this isn't a constitutional right."
That's not how that works.

Congress does not have unlimited powers to do whatever the fuck it wants to short of things the constitution explicitly disallows it to do.

The constitution is inherently a white list of what the government can do (with the bill of rights being a special case, which is why they were passed as amendments).

Every single piece of Federal legislation must be rooted in a granted constitutional authority in order to be valid. Otherwise a simple suit that points out the lack of constitutional authority to do what was passed is enough to defeat the legislation.

Wouldn't common sense laws still allow free-range abortions but LIMIT them based on the trimester of the woman's womb? That would've been a promising compromise.
Ehh. To be honest, I think that unless you ban abortion in most/all cases and eliminate the perception for a need of an abortion, you're not gonna have a permanent or stable settlement. The center is much more likely to move to the pro-life camp than to the pro-choice camp since most people view abortion as at best a necessary evil.

Not as retarded as believing a single-celled embryo is literally a person with the same rights as a human being.

But bodily autonomy is only good when it involves vaccines I guess.

Whatcha gonna do now nigga?

I think the over the top protests are going to backfire spectacularly. Bill Clinton said "Abortion should be legal, and rare".

The people screeching are just drones, NPCs, mindless. They have to be if the clowns promoting their special brand of abortion tell them to protest, in mostly Democratic blue cities and states. Most people feel as Clinton said, as there are legitimate medical reasons for a woman to have a termination, the problem is these midwits not only want abortion right up until birth, they want it after birth as well, and repeatedly said so, The last part is really wanting the right be able to murder babies, toddlers and young children with no repercussions, something sane and reasonable people are completely against.

This is going to reinvigorate the right, and not in a way RINOs will be comfortable with.
I agree with much of what you say but the 90s were a different time. Society was net yet wallowing in internet porn. You did not have ethots and tiktok/twitter critters boasting about abortions on social media. Twitter is its own phenomenon where it dumbs down discourse in ways Orwell could never dream of, where people put weight not on the objective merit of content, but how many "followers" an account user has. Compound that with algorithms and the newspeak quality of making it difficult to write complex nuanced thought with 256 character limitations...
Some lady on twitter indicated that at least two Supreme Court Justices are in safe hourses, Could you imagine that going down when Casey was decided (which it would have if Kennedy did not cuck out and switch at the final hour)...
I hope it invigorates the right and indeed helps galvanize a real right-wing populism in this country. It better because the left is energized, and the left is playing for keeps, and has been for about a century.

I'm amazed under how much tension the US public is in the last few years and how everything has turned into a sport where the only thing that seemingly matters is how to vilify and to hurt the other side as much as possible.

Something's gotta give eventually and it won't be pretty
It won't be pretty, it will be beautiful

"Just go to another state" ain't easy for everyone, chief.

It's honestly a shame that yesterday's decision wasn't ruling the NFA (or really any other bullshit federal restrictions on firearms) a gross violation of Constitutional rights. RvW had become pretty low on the list of what should be prioritized for me, but I'm glad it happened because it definitely drowned the graboids out.
With that said, I think anybody aligned with the democrats should be looking at their own politicians instead of fuming at the SC. There's a ridiculously defeatist attitude among them.
This kind of reaction might be warranted for a blanket federal ban on abortion. The reality is that the Supreme Court overturned a decision that even RBG realized would not last.
Democrats had ample opportunity (hell, there was even an advance warning when this decision was being drafted) to actually make a framework for legal abortion at a federal level, but they were perfectly happy with using the shaky foundations in order to harvest votes.
It's not even too late to legalize it federally. However, they seem hellbent on trying to force a bill with absolutely zero restrictions through.
Instead of bitching on twitter and bemoaning how America is now Handmaiden's Tale or whatever the fuck fetish material is the talking point of the week, these people should be talking to democrat politicians to not go full pants on head retarded and try and make a bill that involves some level of compromise.
