If that guard was still looking away for a second and the janitor didn't leave right before it happened (I like to imagine its just her leaving by sheer unaware lucky good timing rather than probably seeing the robber's gun and leaving quietly), they would probably be dead. Kinda of gives an extra thought to that situation.
What's up with that big explosion at the 1:07 mark and the guard leaving though? Hope that man running across to leave the building didn't get hit by a stray bullet.

God must fucking love that guard, so many times he could've been filtered but it just so happened the guy's gun jammed on every single shot...

In this specific case, potentially. However how would they know that's the case and that the comparatively weaker middle might have buckled and dumped them? Being under the comparatively stronger lift-points and closer to the controls is going to generally be best practice. You're trying to catch up to something rolling downhill and you're at a dead stop.
Hard hats or maybe even a for-realsies helmet would be a great idea in this case. Who cares if you're physically alive if you're mentally a vegetal? If you're in the kind of place with actual regulations and you do things right you'd start with a harness like this:

There's even variable-length auto-retractors that could be anchored to the same place the basket is. Either of those would give someone the option to try and use that short yellow job to anchor themself somewhere relatively safer. The harness is going to distribute your weight and stop circulatory issues while you dangle. This next bit isn't required in most settings but you're not going to see my ass >100' without one of these:

I have to nitpick this video because that's just who I am. Why is the janitor wearing a hair net at a bank? What's the worst that could happen? This isn't food service where your hair could get into someone's food. A stray hair gets on a dollar bill, not even remotely a problem. Makes no sense to me.

So the bank is so strict that they make the janitor wear a hair net, but I noticed there is no "wet floor" sign in the lobby. The robber could have just purposely slipped on the floor and sued the bank instead of trying to shoot the guard.
