For the price, I thought the bits would be stored either in the handle or something, not in a cheap black cardboard box.
Also why waste money on orange plastic if it's inside the handle?
I think it's that you get the bits in a cardboard box so you can put them into the handle later on, but that's just fucking retarded because I'm pretty sure even Xiaomi screwdrivers that keep the bits in the handle actually ship with the bits already in the handle. Hard to say if this is a preproduction thing or is it actually gonna ship like that as a final product.

This guy is charging 70 USD for a screwdriver! With bits in a shitty cardboard box lmao, Quite easily you can get an ifixit toolkit for the same price and you can even repair your phone with that, hell a kit with 20 bucks can get you a nice set in a decent box thats neat and tidy, I really want to know who actually buys this garbage lmao.

Here they are.

Can't wait until these are 6.99 with shipping on Aliexpress. This is 81$ with shipping to my island nation and over 20$ more expensive than a PB Swiss ratcheting screwdriver. PB Swiss is widely considered the best screwdriver brand in the world and is made by the world's most expensive labor in Switzerland.

Just ordered 10! Thanks Linus!
I just think its so fucking funny how much worse and how much more expensive it is then other brands. Like even the brands who charge an arm and a half are is still cheaper then his plasticy piece of garbage. Its like nobody ever stoped and said "We could do it but should we?". If you wanna have a shot at this market you should try to specialise and/or come up with some new features. Imagine if instead of doing this generic design he made something that would appeal to his comunity like something specfic for building PCs. This ratcheting screwdriver is something you could just get from going down to your local hardware store and giving them 5 bucks. Well no it isn't cause most hardware stores in my country offer 3 year warranty for everything. While Linus offers none.
They posted a teardown of the screwdriver last night:

They got a little to go on that molding. The handle is fine but the rest they got soem ways to go. Im kind of curious about that driveshaft(? English is hard) it looks bent as fuck. Unless you got good connections to your chinese supplier you will have some serious issues with oxidation not on the stainless obviously but everything else.

What a poor choice of bits. 3 hex, 3 slotted and 2 of those weird square things? I don't think I've ever actually seen them in a computer. No Torx of any kind? I would've thrown in a few Torx bits, especially since you can use them in a pinch as a hex bit anyway.

If they actually ship it with the bits not installed then they're lazy fucks too. Even my shitty Wiha screwdriver with bit storage came preloaded.

I think in the June 24 WAN show, Linus mentioned wanting to move 100k of these things. Good luck.

There's no warranty so that's a problem for the user :)

I bought a similar screwdriver to this a while back in a bargain bin at Bunnings for 5 dollarydoos* (or as Americans would say, about tree fiddy from Home Depot). Not only were the bits in the handle grip, it came with 3 extra handle grips each filled with bits (4 handle grips containing 6 bits each) and a nice little case to hold it all. To be fair, it was originally a 15 dollarydoo screwdriver, but it's still fewer dollarydoos than Linus wants for his piece of shit.

Back to my cheap-ass screwdriver... the build quality isn't the greatest, but it's a higher grade of Chinesium than this event or product that Linus heartily endorses. It's good enough to get me out of a dilly of a pickle and compact enough to fit in my car's spare wheel well.

Linus bought another fucking server.

And, I'm not the most competent sysadmin or anything; but I'm also not in a position where I can just buy gear and design shit the way I want it. This idiot is, and he just seems to enjoy dropping thousands of dollars to fuck around instead of make a real storage solution that works and isn't so unstable. Yeah you have Petabytes of storage, but segment that shit off and cut it down into smaller clusters for different work sections and redundancy you retard. Imagine spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on server hardware and having it crash and burn, and still not getting it right.

*taps hard drive array tray* "You can fit so much hard drive in here." - Linus

Why does he have a bedroom at his company's office space? In the JBOD storage video just posted at 16:44 timestamp the subtitles said the sever could be heard while it was in the server room with the door closed "from the bedroom", whatever that's supposed to mean.
Its one of the filming sets, iirc its where they do shortcircuit now but the name stuck.
