I can see why the yabbit liked artia now, heck going only by this clip I could think some artia may have sticked onto her.
BUT PIPPA CRIED ON HER ANNIVERSARY WHILE SINGING, SHE LOVES US!! (shut up, I'm not parasocial and I WILL NOT take my meds)

On the one hand, this is kind of a fair point...

On the other, if my oshi just straight up said "I don't love you guys" I would probably cry and cancel my membership. You're selling a dream, so let me buy into it.

it's even more hilarious when you consider what the current hubbub actually means: cover, THE vtuber company, gives a shit about... vshojo of all people.
To be fair, Cover has only had like one or two solid years of dominance over Niji. They lost the male vtuber game to Niji in both the JP and EN markets. Myth is calling attention to their managerial incompetence and Council has been kind of a failure except for the rat. They know how precarious their position in the market is, how fickle tastes are, and how quickly it can all go to shit.

An upstart, technologically savvy agency from America is the sort of black ships scenario that makes Japanese execs shit themselves and I'm not surprised they're in all-hands-on-deck mode after said agency poached two of their former talents (said talents being among the highest earners in the company) specifically to compete head-on with them in their home market.

Holy shit its going to be a long one.

They probably don't want to play games with gun. Marine will do solo stream tonight.

Calli can not jump ship anyway. She have contract with a label as calli.
This is a possibility. Some people are retarded and might take it the wrong way similar to how Yugo stream after the latest earthquake got them in shit because she laughed at a few points in the stream and people took it as offensive because no one should laugh when there is a disaster (retarded but what can you do).

I honestly don't see why Niji or other companies would get uppity about interacting with VShojo. I still don't necessarily believe that Kanata's meeting and subsequent announcement of moving home are an example of causation.
To be fair Niji doesn't have the issue of 2 of their ex-employees joining the competition.

Honestly shit like this really makes me hate Kson. She just gives of shit stirring vibes saying shit like how bonds are so much stronger, after she strains relations between her "friend" and their employer. Then you have the fact that this shit is hidden and vague passive-aggressive bullshit. "Vtubers and fans as hostages", bitch you are now literally working in a rival company with a girl who supposedly doxxed other members and made some batshit posts about wanting to bring others down, no shit Cover doesn't feel happy about living arrangements with their employees. When you add in the shilling of Vshojo (remember guys, there are absolutely no cons to working with Vshojo, they are the only company that gives you money and expects nothing back) it just comes off as her being sly and malicious imo. Enjoy burning those bridges I guess.
Not sure how any of this is Kson's fault for joining Vshojo. The passive-aggressive comments just come off as someone who is not happy with the situation and venting over it but other than that why is it a problem that she joined a company that gave her a good deal?

I don't know anything about Rust.
But, I heard that Rust game play involving making homemade gun.
True. As retarded as that might sound I bet some people would get offended by that.

Canada is out of internet today
Why? The hamster powering the wheel died?

I'm just gonna say it is surprising to me how many people will jump to defend a corpo over this lol. I get where they are coming from, but that doesn't make it any less of a dick move and hypocritical.
I like to call Cover out on their shit whenever they fuck up. In this case if the rumors are true, I understand the reasoning but I feel like the approach will only cause more harm and resentment from their own talents to themselves so they are only shooting themselves in the foot.

I don't think there was anything malicious intentions behind Kson joining Vshojo, but I don't think she really notified one of her best friends and very close neighbors about it. That, or word about such things never reached Cover management until the very sudden, very public announcement. Why else would there have to be an emergency meeting that ends up with Kanata moving on such short notice? I do understand Cover's general concern of leaks, but give the girls longer than the end of the month to move, sheesh. I'd guess it was higher level of management that would have pushed for a deadline like that.
She has no obligation to do so as she would probably be breaking NDA and spoiling things for herself.

I feel like I read a manga like this before.. something something fraternization or living with someone from competing companies in the same industry.. wait.. I DID

this was from waaaaay back holy shit... not necessarily the same scenario but you can kinda see parallels(?) Is it bad or good? Who knows.. the way I see it it's like having an Intel and AMD chip designers/engineers be roommates, would you as top level management/corporate trust em not to accidentally (or not) spill the beans? Even moreso if they're all teetee and shit? Welcome to Corporate Management, where you are always the evil because you have to make the choices for the corporate "good" and sometimes it does not win you the social points/credit.

caught in 4k

The only thing I'd say is that if it were Cover that is expecting them to pretend "we’re not friends anymore to protect a bullshit story" with regards to Kanata. then I have to question how/why Kanata talked so much about her on stream today and made plans to continue to talk about her in the future. It would make Ksons words and Kanata's actions contradict one another.
Many reasons to explain this.
1. Could just be vagueposting to stir up the drama shit pile and create interest around the whole situation.
2. Kanata does not like what they told her and talking about it is her way to tell them to fuck off (similar to that stream Pekora was crying bitching about management).

Imagine Artia and friends now work in this place lmao.

I laughed my ass off thinking this is a VTuber sweatshop factory agency in China.
I think she mentioned she would quit content creation and just get a regular job. Although its China so sweatshop seems "regular".

Pippa cried because after failing to "make it" a few times she finally did it or is atleast in the correct path to get there while at the same time having impostor syndrome and being extremely grateful that she has an actual audience that supports her.

I don't know much about Artia but since she was one of the few english speakers in the company it makes sense for people to gravitate to her. Problem comes with the whole Taiwan thing and her being a piece of shit.

Well, okay then. Duly noted.
I felt that one.

This came up on my susantube shorts scrolling while I was waiting for my curry.. Interesting.. 13k for Vtubing related expenses.. I wonder how much was tech and model(s)
First time i see this dude but seems like hes been streaming since February 2021 and is at 173k subs (on youtube) and around 140k Followers on Twitch. He has a nice looking model which seems to have fairly decent rigging. Seems that their model was made by Iron Vertex which is Brian Tsui's company/group of artists that just work on Live 2D and they have worked with Hololive, Vshojo and Crunchyroll. I would assume that his model cost somewhere along the lines of $3,000-$5,000. I don't think he is an artist either so I can assume that every transition, background, stream overlay, music and promotional art he has was also comissioned. Since he dropped cash on Iron Vertex, I would also assume he dropped huge cash on the commissions too. That's another 2,000-3,000. He probably also dropped around 3,000-5,000 on a high spec PC plus any other Streaming peripheral including good webcam, good mic, GoXlR, Streamdeck and whatnot. There's the $13,000. Probably also paying editors to edit his videos for Youtube.

He still owns the government because he is probably making over $50,000 on streaming + whatever else he makes from his regular job ( more than 6 figures).

You are bringing "new" talent into the mix. While Vtubing is saturated, the new people Vshojo will bring in are big enough that they will directly impact the number of viewers that normally watch Hololive streams. Rushia and Coco's viewers spread out to the adjacent Hololive streamers so any big negative impact the company might have suffered was mostly redirected to the other talents on that timeslot. This is the potential to pull those people back out and away from Hololive.

Also there is the threat that some of the girls that have expressed concerns about management can get poached by a more attractive profit sharing model and less intrusive management. Not everyone at Hololive was picked to be an Idol. Im sure most of the earlier girls were but Gen 3, 4, 5 and 6 have people in it that don't really work well as idols.

Yeah Elira and Enna had to cancel their streams because of it. Probably more will follow if it doesn't get fixed soon.

This part got me though

Is that 90% correct? If so that's kind of nuts that one company has that much control
It's extremely poorly phrased, Roger + Bell + Telus (and all the brands under them) have 90% of the market. I would estimate Rogers alone to be 25-30%. Still no real competition since the big four all work together to quash any startups and block new networks from being built though controlling the CRTC and a whole host of anti competitive practices like throttling the bandwidth they're forced to lease to smaller companies then pretending they didn't when questioned.

Actually, if we are talking about “crusty nip execs”, I can easily see them shitting their pants in anger over a bunch of “idols” that don’t stick to the “pure and wholesome untouched by men” typecast. Which just makes it funnier.
I mean if that were the case actual semen demon Choco who wants to find a good husband wouldn't exist.

Hololive didn't even become an "idol(lol)" company until well after gen 2 and Gamers debuted.

Edit: Also Lilypichu (formerly on Twtich now signed to Youtube) was just talking about how she wants to transition to vtubing to her main content going forward once her model is done
All she needs to do is debut as a pink cat and the old joke about people being unable to tell Nyanners' and Lilypichu's voices apart will come full circle.
