Ready or Not - The 2nd video game to let you flash bang a small child

Ive noticed that the ai on valley like to shoot at me through the interior stairs that over look the pool, i always get a few shots there
The interior stairs near the pool, the staircase leading down from the foyer into the living area, the double doors near the porn theater, the interior walls leading from the daughters bedroom to the living area, and the lower floor around the porn theater are places I've noticed an uptick in team wipes due to wallbangs.

It doesn't help that their 9 and 10mm weapons seem to have way better material penetration than any of our gear.

The veracity of the guards willingness to just start shooting at an armed SWAT team in the child-rape dungeon mission reminds me of FEAR's armacham security guards, they must be getting paid a fortune. I'd imagine 99% of guards are going to just surrender when the police show up. Of course I can excuse the guards who are literally guarding the children and who have no real excuse, but the guy guarding the front door has good plausible deniability.

The guards are getting paid far better than us at any rate. Though in the end, maybe the money would have been better spent buying the DA.

Private contractors / guards with special operations experience actually do command a hefty price in these kinds of endeavors. It's usually the ultrarich or multibillion dollar corps employing them too so they can name their price.

Depends on their experience. I know a handful of ex green berets and rangers that went into private security and basically write their own paychecks to walk rich people with more money than sense around. The guys guarding the Voll house in Valley are probably ex military or SWAT, so they'd be decently expensive.

Ridge-line and Hospital got removed from the supporter branch and will be readded when more finished according to reddit, should be noted on ridgeline you literally couldn't use any of the entrances without wiggling through them.

Also since the updates no longer have release dates , we have no idea when the next update is or what it will contain.

The AI has gotten worse. You get one-tapped for walking around a corner, and despite claims of improving the ballistic penetration in the patch notes, the suspects still feel as spongey as ever.

I hope the devs are not running out of steam already. I know about the troubled past of RoN's development, but it seemed like they got their shit together, until recently.
I hope they put more focus on improving/polishing AI, ballistics, UI and game mechanics, in the future update(s).

I do think the devs need to focus on smaller updates for a bit, ai is still a major issue they just keep making worse, UI needs a fix regarding customizing weapons, and they need to fix the surface penetration issue with the maps

Love this game. It's so good. Reminds me of SWAT 4. Updates have been great so far and there are lots of great mod.

Supposedly they will release a school shooting level. Guess we will see what happens then

I believe it was one of the recent updates for the penetration issues

Gameplay
  • Fix bullets not penetrating through limbs
  • Fix ammunition penetrating through suspects despite being blocked by armour
  • Fix shotgun ammunition having incorrect penetration and armour durability damage
  • Fix buckshot having too much spread
  • Fix excessive camera movement when shot with certain weapons
  • Incapacitated kill penalty buffed to -200 (was -15)
  • Damage to neck bone is now considered a headshot instead of a body shot
  • Multiple crash fixes

I had a tinker in the AI files and some of the things in it are baffling. For example, the AI has 320 degrees vision centered on their front when alerted. In effect, the only place they cannot see is a space directly behind them approximately the width of their back. Suspects can also move and shoot at 2.3 meters per second (7.55 feet per second for Americunts) while still landing shots accurately for the first second before their aim begins to deviate. A particularly interesting tidbit I found is that the AI is not bound by the rate of fire of the weapon they hold. They have a statistic that dictates their rate of fire coded into the AI based on the class of weapon they hold. So the Uzis that they can BRRT officers down with? Yeah they're firing way faster than 600 rounds per minute. Same with the MP5/10s on Valley and the TEC-9s on Gas.

I can sorta understand the field of view thing , its probably meant to simulate them moving their head left and right, but the rate of fire thing is total bullshit

I make a lot of comparisons to Ground Branch, but I prefer GB's method where their FoV cone is fixed to their face but they can turn their head independently of their body. So while they have the same effective FoV, they actually need to move their head to make that work.

What I cannot seem to find is statistics on suspect weapon penetration values, though, and that's the one that interests me most right now.

id hope its just as fucked as swats penetration values, it may be tied to caliber and weapons unlike firerate though

Not sure how to quote in an edit, but from some of the other modders I've spoken to the suspects penetration values are absolutely busted. Like, can penetrate anything busted.

Wake up new Devlog, ridge-line is nearing completion and the devs are doing a AMA soon, cant wait to see how filtered it is

The official discord is probably getting more filtered than the average Chinese webcafe for questions that don't put the devs in a bad light. I put in a few, but I have zero doubt that they won't get answered.

It's telling that they're not doing this on a more traditional venue like Reddit and r/AmA or even the game subreddit.
