supposing huke based the Kiara character off of Keeki when "Keeki" was going to initially get Calli's model is what I mean fell flat because huke wouldn't have based anything on the girl that wasn't supposed to even have the character model.

I made the point about input because what they've said on the matter takes it a step further to say that they didn't have any say in their designs (barring I think a minor rigging tweak Gura asked for) until their 2nd outfits came out and they then got to talk with their artists more on it.

Many of these models are made ahead of time, cases of customization or catering to the person playing them on debut are kind of unheard of in corpo vtubing.

Makes sense, the author is also the Author for Kagura-sama Love is war, which also talked about youtube streamers and had the Coco/Pekora cameo in it like a year and a half ago. (bottom panel)

Yeah but that's more of their characters in their own lore scenarios, what i meant was more meta, like a story about someone who hides the fact that they are a vtuber or some naive teen going on a classic journey to "become to most famous vtuber" and realizing it ain't all its cracked up to be.

Is Erina confirmed to be in the Philippines? Because her timeslot would be perfect for her, 12 noon, so it's hot so most people are indoor and lunch time for Filipinos when she starts streaming.

The Gura section was definitely pre-recorded, but things like reacting to and commenting on the pose that her model got stuck on for a few seconds shows that at least her solo parts are live.

to add on to that, that suisei chat just now was natural to the point that it definitely wasn't her talking to a recording as well.

on top of which Watame and Suisei both have been tweeting about being at the venue for the last few hours for rehearsal and tweeting about their meals provided as well.

Well of all the songs for her to perform I wasn't expecting her to break out the Hololive Alternative trailer song she did.
