Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Poor guy. I hope he has good antidepressants, a therapist, and an engaging hobby. Semper fi, Mr Justice Hayden.

All of the pediatricians I've ever encountered who specialize in child abuse have been...burdened, to say the least. I'm remembering one guy specifically whose directory photo on the hospital website resembles an Al Qaeda proof-of-life photograph of Eeyore. I can't imagine that judges who deal with the same are any more chipper, but god only knows they are doing incredibly important work. Hopefully Mr Justice Hayden gets some holiday time soon.
Our local sexual abuse expert retired some years ago. As one could imagine, she spent far too much of her time dealing with parents going through messy divorces, and usually the mother who took the kid(s) there, HOPING their STBX had abused them. Sick, sick, sick.

The consanguineous marriage factor makes journal articles written by Saudi researchers absolutely fascinating, for what it's worth. Unlike a lot of other places with a highly consanguineous population, the Saudis have enough money and infrastructure to actually research and document all of the bizarre Tard Babies their countrymen produce. If you want a case report about some exceedingly rare genetic condition, start with stuff written by researchers in KSA.

I'll do a deep dive and present my findings to the class. Watch this space!
Someone (maybe it was you) posted links and pictures to an Egyptian medical website where similar things were going on in some of their insular communities. The same thing is going on in the U.S. and Canada, in some of the Mennonite and Amish communities.

Parts of the Canadian prairie, and northern U.S., have significant populations of a group called the Hutterites, and there's an unwritten rule that when the population in a community reaches 150, the group must split. There is some evidence done by anthropologists that our primitive ancestors appeared to do something similar.

Has anyone seen anything on Tinslee Lewis? Iirc, she did get to go home, but I wonder how she is faring, or if she's even still alive? Wonder what her QOL would have been like with the trach in to be released from care.
Poor kid should have been given comfort care ages ago after they established that no other hospital would take her.

Now I'll have to go hop on Luna's thread and be proven wrong that the poor child hasn't passed in her sleep yet. Ugggh can't stand her parents.

I haven't seen any news on Tinslee but I check in now and then to see if Luna is at peace yet.
I had a horrifying thought....what if she beats the odds and lives into her tweens? I hope her existence isn't prolonged like that. Her brother is neglected.

Reminds me of a really good documentary about cousins marrying and having children. It's a bit long but worth it.

Edit: also, watch the movie Midsommar! Freaky but in a roundabout way is about too much genetic intermingling too.

Isn’t she the one who had another baby boy with her new husband, fully knowing that it’s an X linked inherited condition and she’s a carrier? Because boys get only one X chromosome, they are the ones who get DMD generally, while girls are possibly carriers. She had more daughters too, possibly carriers themselves. Having another boy who could have gotten the same awful, life limiting illness as his brother was reckless at best.
Yep, that's her.
Britney and Ean (first partner, Nolan's father) had a daughter Scarlett after having Nolan, I don't know if he was diagnosed with DMD at the time. She and Frank (new husband) had a daughter Harlow, and a son Fletcher. They claimed to not know Fletcher's sex until the birth, but a lot of people think it's pretty suspicious that the only baby they didn't know ahead of time is the one that has a 50% chance of having DMD.
Fletcher was tested at birth and again at 1, and he does not have DMD thankfully. I don't know if any of her daughters have been tested yet to see if they are carriers. They're currently well off enough financially that they could handle medical expenses for two significantly disabled children, but with her having five kids and trying to run a business and be a full-time influencer there is no way she would have the time to care for two disabled kids.

I honestly worry about what will happen when Nolan gets older and is sicker - there's a good chance that Britney will be stretched very thin between full-time stay-at-home mom obligations, full-time influencer job, running an etching business from her garage, and caring for a disabled child. She will have to get help with some things but she doesn't seem like the type. There are also some people (myself included) who think she kind of parentifies her oldest daughter Aria; in the latest video I linked, she was saying how if she's checking to see what her kids are out of she will text Aria because she always keeps track of that. It's obviously not the worst thing in the world to be responsible for knowing if your siblings used all the soap, but apparently Aria knows there is an expectation from her mom to be responsible for her siblings. She'll be a young teen when Nolan starts to decline more, how much will she have to be responsible for? It's good for teenagers to have chores and minor responsibilities, but she shouldn't lose her childhood because she has to care for her siblings.
Sorry for the little rant. Nolan reminds me of a family member, so I get a little more MATI than usual.

Similarly if you want a western perspective, anything by Ultra Orthodox jewish groups like the Satmar. They aren't cousin marrying like the Saudis are, but because their culture is so insular, hostile to outsiders, and of relatively small population (Around 25,000 households worldwide), you see quite similar genetic issues cropping up at much higher rates than gen pop.

I was actually going to sperg out about Kiryas Joel in another thread. That's a wild ride.

Oh god fucking KJ. My mother was a bus driver for the local public school district a decade or so ago, that had to transport their special needs children because district borders. Many of them ended up not getting a state education or having to pay for private transport because parents refused to let their male children on a bus driven by a woman.

@Fareal, that is truly one of the best and most informative posts in this thread, and likely one of the best posts I've read anywhere on the Farms. Everyone should read it. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
Thanks, that's very kind <3

Medico legal stuff to do with kids is unpleasantly complicated, and particularly with UK cases, is done a bit differently than it tends to be done in the US. It can be helpful for people following the coverage to have some idea of what the court is involved in and trying to determine at any given stage. I am glad to share my grim hard-won experience for the benefit of the farm.

I know because the UK is wedded to privacy and heavy redaction in family proceedings, it can be difficult to figure out what is going on or why the fuck the court is making given decisions. I won't lie: sometimes the decisions are a shocker. But most of the time they are reasonable and well considered. It is also possible a lot of the time to figure out the background of the case by what the court is careful not to specify.

This Baby A case is very dark business indeed and I agree with the poster above who thought that the parents' interest in keeping Baby A alive is to dodge or at least seriously delay any manslaughter charges that might otherwise appear. If that seems breathtakingly cold, remember that they or someone known to them managed to summon up the ability to beat a weeks-old baby to death (now, or later). These are not exactly the best of people we are dealing with here.

Now I'm curious. Please sperg.

At work so can't go in deep yet and anything more deserves it's own thread but... Imagine the FLDS but Jewish. Complete with archaic dress codes and forced seperation of genders in public to the point they got in trouble for putting up signs designating male and female sidewalks once.

But for here the important thing is ALL of their special needs children go to state schools because their normal education pathway is 100% religious studies. So a lot of kids with both the intellectual AND cultural inability to understand their peers or teachers.

Well...I guess they really showed her...🙄😂

Thanks for the kosher rabbit hole to jump into!

I have been wondering for a while with her discussing the phone calls in the bedroom in all the interviews if she was actually on a dirty phone call, Archie heard, it was the final straw and he thought "fuck this" and hung himself.
Based Archie refused to suffer a thot any longer.
As for the possible brittle bones thing- that usually is a slight knock, and doesn’t come with retinal haemorrhage and brain injury…
Hopefully it comes included for an end to hotwheels.
Ean (pronounced like Ian, just spelled dumb)
Good thing he'll probably be in SPED classes just for the mobility issues. A kid named Ian (spelled E-a-n is gunna get bullied).
Talk about things going pear-shaped, oof.
When she tell you she pear-shaped but she meant her lungs: 🤯
Great topic on Hollie, but it being on regular kiwi space is already shitting it. Big opinions are being had 🗑️
Let me guess, the pro life failed abortions from A&H shat it up.
I know there’s been cases where it turned out the child had some super rare disorder (not a medifag just remember reading about it). Chances are though something awful happened to that poor boy, what a hornets nest I stumbled into when browsing for news about the fires yesterday.
I've heard of parents of kids with rare mitochondrial disorders being accused of Munchausen's by proxy aka medical abuse bc of frequent use of hospital resources when they're trying to find answers.

A friend of a friend had a very sick little girl. I'm not sure exactly what all she had wrong with her, but I know she had a tumor and her organs were shutting down. Before that she was a happy normal toddler. For weeks in the hospital her family didn't know how much longer they had with her.
Until one day, when her parents got the news that another child around her age had sadly passed on, and his parents had decided to donate his organs to help other children.

The surgery was a success and 3 years later the little girl is thriving.

Every time I think of Archie's situation I can't help but think of all the children he could have helped if his mother hadn't dragged this on so long so she could watch his body decay in a hospital bed.
