In a way, he did. Megan only really focussed him more on something that he was already shovelling into Sonichu, from fleeting allusions to Inuyasha to full-on rip-offs of scenes and dialogue from Excel Saga. I suppose that you could even make a decent case for both Sonic and, especially, Pokemon being big favourites with the weebs.
The possibility of China led Chris to make Sonichu much more manga/anime-esque, but he'd had a fair amount of interest in it from well before then. Didn't his 'stay straight' Sailor Moon poster pre-date any mention of Sailor Megtune?

It's hard to say but I think if he had continued to obsess over shonen (boys) manga there's a possiblity he wouldn't have trooned out, I think modern western cartoons might have played a part in Chris doing that since in anime aimed at teens (Naruto, My Hero Academia, DBZ, etc) as well as older cartoons there is an heroic male protagonist who either gets the girl or has a girl infatuated with them (Like with Sonic) and everyone loves them but these days it's often subverted where there's effeminate male side characters and the female protagonist is heroic and gets the pretty girlfriend.
Saying that there's a big crossover between autistic men who watch 'girls doing cute things' slice of life anime shows (Basically what MLP was) and trooning out so it might not have made a difference.

Lil' thought experiement of mine:
On YouTube there's a whole bunch of these "Chris Chan: All endings" videos. Where, as the title says, several more or less possible endings of Chris' life/story are shown, in a similar manner to the endings of a Visual Novel. This made me wonder about something: All Visual Novels (or VNs, for short) have a Common Route that the player MUST complete before they reach a certain point in the story where several Different Routes (each leading to a different ending) branch off. Which one exactly depends on the Player's choices they made during the Common Route. So here's the question: if Chris' life was the sotry of a VN, then what perticular moment was the point where the routes branched off?

A surprising amount from what I’ve seen, although the brony factor may be a bit of a red herring in my opinion since the majority of bronies are autistic (In fact I don’t recall seeing an adult brony who wasn’t) and autistic men seem more likely to become a true and honest tomgirl compared to the general population.
Although saying that autistic people like Chris seem to be heavily influenced by pop culture, cartoons in particular so maybe MLP did convince them that they are female because they’d rather be having tea parties with gal pals than whatever brute males enjoy doing with their spare time.
An obvious branch would be sex with Barb vs going to a convention with a paid for flight and if he played his cards right a romantic encounter with Belle.
And long before that oddly another convention related branch where instead of creeping Megan out with a drawing of him having sex with her he could have strengthened their friendship by winning the Parappa contest and had a non romantic fun time with another paid for convention for two.

Chris creeped Megan out long before the drawing. The Parappa contest was almost a year before Megan found out about shecameforcwc.jpg.

I'm not sure Chris recognizes the differences between anime and western animation. To him it's all just drawings, and I'm not even certain Chris can recognize different art styles within each. He draws his own Original Character Sailor Megtune in an anime-esque simply because that's what he thinkgs Sailor Moon looks like. This style blindness might also be a part of why he thinks his own art "style" is Just As Good as the media he consumes.
Whatif Chris had gotten into Fist of the North Star instead of ponies?

Nope, I don’t think Chris is really afraid of anything at this point, he’s set up too many defensive shields on his mind that even if he’s thrust out of the last place that will tolerate him he can eventually just mentally twist and make enough gymnastics that hes actually living his old life and literally spend the rest of his life in his fantasies till he either gets wasted from an act of inept incompetence or from starvation.
Damn this is a really good job, which of these seem the most likely though?

OK, disinclination towards real discomfort could (could) keep him in a tard home.
Adapting to your private cell in a jail is one thing, especially since it’s a structured environment where the biggest irritant is boredom. Living on the streets is quite another. Even if Chris isn’t afraid of it, if sticking it out in a tard home is easier and more comfortable, Chris might take the option. Especially if he gets into a routine.

A alot of these endings are things Chris has tried to, has had the chance to, or has considered. With everything that has happened the "evil happiness neutral" ending is what he has chosen. The only thing changing that is if he goes to jail, in which it will be an "evil aligned unhappy" ending.
