From one of the many Subreddits dedicated to discussing movies and box office. Users digressed into an unnecessary debate about the historical meaning of the term "third world". All because other users dare to use the term "third world" in its modern definition (a term referring to poor or underdeveloped nations), and not in the Cold War context (un-aligned nations). The debate intensified after someone said that the U.S. is on track to become a "third world country".
From the responses, you would think that people have never seen a word change meaning over time. Or that the modern usage of the term is nonexistent (whether joking or serious).
