Do you think Chris would do any better job of retracting his confession than he has explaining how he dindu nuffin?
Kinda optimistic bordering on insane to assume that 15 minutes with that jury that includes audiovisual materials, wouldn’t guarantee Chris being seen as an extremely unreliable narrator.
Look at the retraction in the letters. Is there a human on Earth that would say, "Oh yes, it's just a healing ritual involving light massage performed by the reincarnation of Jesus, it isn't a retarded pervert having non consensual sex with his incapacitated elderly mother.
That’s what you think because you know Chris.
Get 12 random jurors and they’ll hear a guy constantly saying outrageous stuff for attention.
Will some, maybe if them suspect that Chris is lying? Could be, but you gotta get to beyond a reasonable doubt.
Give the jury some credit. There's more than enough evidence already to convict Chris.
We don’t actually know that.
We know there are the rantings of a man who also says cartoon characters are real, and is prone to exaggeration/lying.
We know he used a condom, so there’s likely no DNA evidence.
We know there’s a bunch of hearsay evidence that would be inadmissible.
And that’s about it.
There’s a reason why they didn’t go balls to walk right away, and it sure as heck isn’t because the prosecutor has an iron right case.
If it wasn't a solid prosecution, he wouldn't have sat in jail for a year on continuances.
Absolutely not true. Chris getting held up for this long has just as much to do with the sped court, Chris’s defense and the prosecutor not knowing what the f to do.
Guess what. If your client is likely to become a hobo the second he’s out, both sped court and defense attorney won’t push super hard for a quick bail resolution.
