It's no more Chinese than an Apple product. It was funded and engineered in America by Americans like Anthony Fauci, Peter Daszak, and Ralph Baric and outsourced to China for final assembly, just like everything else is these days.

While it's shit that it's all being done for profit and posturing and in reality it's probably all theater anyway, I have to disagree with the stance so many on the right seem to be taking about Pelosis Taiwan trip now that it's suddenly back on the menu. Have seen a lot of "NOOOOO you can't do that you'll get us into war!" from a lot of right twitter accounts and it's like wtf?

We cannot afford to be seen backing down from China over this. Sure it probably should have been handled differently to start, but once the ball got rolling, we put ourselves in a spot where we have to see it through. Backing down in such a way would in many ways be even more embarrassing for the US, more damaging to our international presence, than the Afghanistan withdrawal.

I'm all for seeing more moments where the Biden admin gets egg on their face, and such a fuckup would pin as much if not more shame on him than Carter carried, but it's not worth allowing our primary geopolitical adversary think they can dole out instructions to our senior government officials and military just to buy that egg.

The important thing is these ballot dropboxes will be abandoned once the left can't use them to rig shit anymore. They might be around in 2024, but by 2028 they'll give up on the idea, especially if local populists keep screwing them up.
