Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

I think all of the Nintendo developed games are, but there would have been some timelune-unification event to make that possible, and it seems like BotW2 might go into the details of it.
Hope so. Zelda could use a very epic universal stakes type of game for a change.

Maybe I have been playing too many JRPGs

Nintendo is probably never going to clarify the canon, they want to sell more guidebooks.

Nintendo: "Oh, yeah...uhhh...the Goddesses just made everything converge together or something...I dunno."

Like, really, what is the fucking point of explaining this stupid shit when BotW is so far removed from the rest of the games? I'd rather if they were going to take the time to explain shit they'd delve more into the newer shit they created like the Nomai or something than go into more stupid timeline shit.

Too bad because timeline shit is what you're gonna get.

Considering there hasn't been a single Zelda game that has actually dealt with timeline shit yet, I won't hold my breath.
Windwaker practically created it and another one (TP or Ask, I forget) gave us the third "Ganon won" timeline.

I much prefer the DKC timeline anyway, someone else can link it since I am currently phoneposting.

They literally sell a Canon guidebook, it couldn't be more simple.
Do they revise it when new games come out? If not then it's going to be outdated at some point if it's not already. They will want to sell more of them and keep people discussing the games so the actual games won't really touch on this stuff much.

There's no need to update it. The next game that came out was BOTW.

It furthers the point that Nintendo wants to move past all this stupid shit. They literally made a game that is so far removed from the rest that it's pointless to even think about timeline shit with it.

I like the idea that BOTW is a mashing of all three timelines together in the far future of each one, on the assumption that the Goddesses returned briefly and fixed reality in the laziest way possible after seeing how OoT Zelda fucked everything up. Even if that isn't the case BOTW was still designed to torpedo timeline autism with a vengeance.

Crazy story my dude, I don't believe it.

So, time for another 'fuck Skyward Sword.'

I've been hankering for some good ol Zelda exploration and dungeon crawling, so I decided to give Skyward Sword another shot, in a desperate attempt to not have wasted my money.

Every fucking time I boot this trashfire up, I'm reminded why I hate it. Once I get past the ugliest Link in the series (and I'm including Green Eyebrows from the NES.), the worst companion in the franchise, and the god awful way the game handles, I inevitably run face first into what makes this dogshit game unplayable: The time wasting.

Every. Fucking. Aspect. of this dogshit ass game is designed not for fun, not for innovation, but to waste your time. From things as minor as requiring extra buttons to do basic shit (Two buttons to pull out your shield, three to throw a fucking bomb.), to the games 'cinematics' adding an extra two minutes to every new zone, to the bland, boring ass fetch quests, to the fucking. Dowsing.

And that's not even getting into the lorefag fury of the Demise horse-shit retroactively making every other Zelda worse.

Edit: I know damn well I'm getting tophats for this, I don't care. Fuck this game.

Oh no no, please, get it all out, I love seeing people shit on objectively horrible games with simp defenders who insist it's good out of brand loyalty alone. Just like Final Fantasy XIII.

Eh, Skyward Sword could have been an lot better with it's gameplay, even wielding the sword felt stilted and awkward.

Only thing that I liked about it was that nearly each upgrade to it made the fights go by an little bit quicker.

I'll give Skyward Sword props for somehow making flying through the skies feel incredibly slow and sluggish.

I know people complained about sailing in Wind Waker's original release, but that felt way faster than using that dumbass looking bird.

You know what else made the sailing cool? All the shit you could find. SS on the other hand...
