He won't be turned off at 11 now I think as that gives 20 minutes notice at the time of writing. Not to say it isn't done, my grandad was kept alive on an external pacemaker in preparation for surgery. They decided just before it was no longer happening and they were removing the pacemaker in 15 minutes.

The child seized almost continuously it was horrifying, felt like we were complicit in his suffering.
Part of his fits presented as lip-smacking. the dad would put the dummy in his mouth, bang the end of the dummy to induce fits then film it to look like he was sucking it.
Videos showing arm stretching were reflexes caused by digging his fingers in either side of his spine at the back, He knew how to elicit different reflexes thanks to google.
massive misappropriation of funds. Getting them sent to personal accounts as well as through gfm and crowdfunding.

I think the media will investigate after this simply because of how Archie ended up in hospital in the first place. Alfie was just extremely sick so there's no background story to pry into and it'll be much harder to sway public sympathy.

That's horrifying though, I'm sorry you had to deal with that when you were just trying to do your job. For what it's worth, most people who aren't complete nutjobs knew that the staff were doing their best for him and that all the stories coming out were total bullshit.

Just so I'm not veering too far off-topic, I really hope this is the last avenue they can explore/exploit. This nonsense about there being a treatment elsewhere is peak desperation; it's got to be over soon, right?

They are incredibly selfish when they bring these <<insertname>> Army lot to “vigil”, they disrupt the hospital harass medical staff and make it hell for other patients

Being objective this kid has no hope of not needing machines to do everything, taking up a PICU bed that others who have a chance of recovery will need and is probably stressing out the staff who work there

It’s just wrong to be honest, bloody Facebook giving these people the ability to organise this type of thing. It’s also pointless all these people making noise will have zero bearing on the judges involved and only harms whatever cause they purport to be from

I know of someone who also worked at alder hay and some thugs harassed her and threatened her on the bus home. Accused her and her colleagues of torturing the kid when in reality they just were doing what they could for his welfare.

Alfie’s dad always came across as a POS to be honest. He nearly got himself arrested after a non lawyer sent him a letter claiming he could just walk off with the kid

Turned out that wasn’t the law, him and a bunch of thugs showed up caused a riot in the ward (again impacting the other patients and staff)
