Predator 5 announced - Why can't they leave this fucking franchise just rest in peace?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
When will they learn that you put a woman protag in a Predator movie to imply crosspecies bonking, and people will not watch it otherwise?
You do realize that this a Predator movie as in a movie in the Predator universe, and not a docudrama biopic about a victim of sexual harassment.

Isn't the Comanche one of the most barbariac tribes to the point where all of their neighbors outright hate and loathe them because of how downright vile and evil the Comanche are? Seems weird since the director said he wanted to portray a tribe in a sympathetic light, and chooses a batshit insane tribe of all things. Even a simple search pointed out their brutality first and foremost.
Also they defintely don't let their women fight. They roasts their own babies for starters.

We live in a world where the real life story of African slavers fighting a war because the slave trade was dying & they wanted to keep doing it only to get their asses handed to them is being told as a “girlboss” film, so it’s not that surprising.

Even so, the reactions have been encouraging.

Heck, it seems that, despite what the marketing and actresses are stating about it being about "representation", the film is very much not focused on that, so much as making sure that the story comes first, along with returning the Predators to their threatening self from the first entry. Heck, some are even saying that the heroine isn't shown as some sort of mistake-free girl-boss, but is indeed out of her depth initially, and instead has to actually study and adapt her strategies in order to defeat the Predator, much the same way that Dutch did in the first.

So again, fingers crossed. And hey, at least we won't have to worry about them wanting autism this time around (can't believe that was an actual plot point in the previous one).

Ads are promoting this film as the Predators' first hunt on Earth, which means future installments could feature the Predators hunting in other parts of the world during or after the time period of Prey (the 18th century). Vikings vs. Predators wouldn't be an official film but Samurai vs. Predators could be.

Apparently, the reviews are saying that the new film is surprising good, with a whopping 95% RT rating as of now.

They say it does recapture the spirit of the original much better, so fingers crossed that the critics are right, and not just virtue signaling because of “much female Native American heroine”.
That you actually believe that shit is quite telling.

I don't know, he seems to have liked it a lot:

Makes it sound like its not insufferable and filled with ~the message~, too.

I'd be worried about the kills not being gory, but if he's right that they are creative instead, that's a tradeoff that's acceptable.

I don't know who this person is and them being a youtuber automatically makes them irrelevant. My point is that RT scores are mostly bullshit.

Ah yes, a youtube review, far too plebian for the patrician who expects the real deal review that a fourth predator sequel deserves.
Dilate and seethe harder.
Well yeah I agree that RT is fake most of the time. For christ's sake, they gave Spaceballs a rotten score. That said, your point has nothing to do with a certain YouTuber's opinion on a movie.
I didn't even watch it, that's how little I give a shit about YouTubers. Sorry not sorry if that gets people's panties in a bunch. You people know on an intellectual level this movie is going to be nothing but woke girlboss garbage yet you still lie to yourselves. "Oh my god, YouTube man said it might not be all bad! Better rush to the theater post haste!".

You are your own worst enemies.
