I'm just flabbergasted Lucas expected the "it's all a swatting guise and they took my hard drives uwu" to work on his audience, and the fact that it did is just fucking astonishing.
To be honest, I'm surprised so many people
here are referring to it as a SWATting. It's not, it's clearly not even just from his lying description, and yet people are using his terminology and acting like anything he has to say about this is accurate.
My opinion is that the cops came, with a warrant, and had reason to seize his computing stuff. He then spent several days putting together his press packet, his story, and his grift. There was no swat, there was no waking up with a gun pointed in his face and the email isn't how he's presented it.
He's likely banking on his supporters uncritically repeating his bullshit, and accepting his word about events over the cops because ACAB and troons are the most oppressed victims ever. By what we've seen so far, he wasn't wrong in that presumption. He might also be motivated by addiction, so he wants to take whatever money he gets and run, damn the consequences, but that's far more speculative.
There's some truth in there somewhere, but we can't take Lucas's word on anything that happened, and that includes evidence that comes from him - which includes things like the statements from his family Vice uncritically published as if it wasn't insane to just ... not verify a fucking word of it. To be fair, I wouldn't expect his family to shop him, but still.
So until a non-troon, non-handmaiden, police/Farms-affiliated source shows evidence, I don't believe any of it went down the way Lucas says, from it being a SWATting on down. I'll be wrong about some things, but I have no idea which things they will be, so I'm just not going to believe any of it without external evidence.
