This scenario has always been one that I love to picture happening, but I just don't see how it would ever come about and I've had to mostly relegate it to wishful thinking. He doesn't engage with anybody in any forum where he isn't just able to block them out. His response to every criticism is to stretch it to the point of absurdity and then say, 'What an idiot, get tf out of here' and ban them. The closest you'd ever get to this is something like the bankruptcy hearing where he knew he'd potentially have to account for all the shit he lies about not adding up, and he got treated with relative kid gloves.
Think about how he acted though, even in a scenario where he was barely pressed on things. He was giving ridiculous rambling responses where he was trying to describe things like PayPal in really specific semantic ways like how he usually plays with language when he's being slimy about something. That little preview of how poorly he was able to handle himself when barely being called to account made me realize what kind of a meltdown he'd have if someone (especially in a position of authority) actually played his language game back at him and picked apart the semantic bullshit that seems to be his only tool when trying to deflect. It'd be glorious to see him stammering and mush mouthed, unable to just call the person stupid and ban them, but he'd only ever be in that scenario if some circumstance forced him to, never willingly. As much as he likes to posture about his principles and his 'rightness' in his holier than thou, absolute black and white terms, he's a moral jellyfish who has zero courage or belief behind his convictions.
Phil indeed loses his ability to infuriatingly go "Nuh-uh!" when someone has him dead-to-rights, once that someone is immune to his usual cowardly tactics. Which in of itself, is a fact that he ignores all of the time, despite it being so well known, acting like anyone watching "I feel sorry for you, Rich" isn't aware of how that talk only happens when Phil is facing a camera in his condo.
Imagine living this way, disregarding pretty much every memory of your own life in order to get away with never changing for the better, not even to put an end to the insults. He truly is insane for expecting to stay a stupid asshole who can't sell a lie, AND have everyone take his name out of their mouths, unless they are going to join his game of "Pretend Phil isn't a cunt."
In short: the 'trolls' win, his fans would know that he's crying poor when he's not, and he'd open himself up to bankruptcy fraud since he'd have to admit that he wrote off his gatcha spending as business expenses.
From the perspective of a pigroach, there is nothing to be gained from confessing, though that comes with the hefty cost of never being able to live with it. Phil's relationship with that part of his rep does not and will not stagnate, it constantly evolves because more evidence piles up every year and awareness increases. Regardless of anything, he's going to keep getting angrier and more desperate to shut the talk down, which naturally yields more slip-ups, which in turn leads to greater scrutiny.
Basically, it doesn't matter what consequences he has contemplated, Phil is inequipped to deal with an exposed secret of this magnitude, and that is going to overwhelm any tact he could possibly muster in the future.
That's what he says, but I doubt he was being honest. DSP is so greedy he'd never turn down free stuff, he'd just open it and lie about ever opening or receiving it.
Phil wanted the money so he could spend it on other things, that's one of the real reasons he's pissed at Rich, who, intetionally or no, blew up his new computer scam. OIC offering him a laptop isn't attention-getting for anyone but the Farms, while Rich brought exposure that Phil won't tolerate. Like was said above, the pigroach loses all ability to smugly engage in anything slimey once it has enough unapproving eyes on it. I've never cared about Phil getting hookers and adult diapers sent to his condo by Wings trolls I've wanted him to feel the stinging heat of the spotlight that his kind deserve. He's an amoral chicken-shit, and it's about damn time he stopped being ignored by people with the power to turn him meek.
